Day 1: Nairobi
Departing after breakfast head into the centre where you can explore the colourful city market. Here you will find dozens of stalls selling hand-made goods such as traditional Maasai jewellery and clothing, plus items like drums, spears and wooden carvings. Next visit the fascinating Nairobi National Museum on Museum Hill. Just a short drive away from the city centre, this flagship museum dates back to 1929 and today houses a number of interesting collections celebrating Kenya’s natural history, varied culture and contemporary art scene.

Later visit the scaly creatures at the Nairobi Snake Park, set within the museum grounds. Founded in 1961 this park was originally built to help facilitate research into the reptiles, but later became a rescue centre. Today it doubles as a public attraction, with the addition of botanical gardens and an exhibition of live snakes, crocodiles, fish, birds and much more. End the afternoon by soaking up the magnificent panorama of the Nairobi view point, where you can enjoy views of the entire city and beyond.
