Nairobi - Lake Elementeita. Welcome to Kenya! Welcome to Kenya! Arrive into Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport where you will be met by your local representative and your guide/driver. We drive to Lake Elementeita, a small soda lake, nestled in the eastern sweep of the Great Rift Valley. The Lake is surrounded by spectacular country that played an important role in the early colonial history of Kenya. The lake attracts many visiting flamingo, and its shores are grazed by zebra, gazelle, eland and families of warthog. The lake and its surrounding forests are perfect for long walks and bird watching. Your lodge is located on the edge of the Lake, spend the afternoon at leisure to relax or take up a few of the optional activities available at the lodge. Overnight - Sunbird Lodge - Elementia (D)
Day 2: Lake Nakuru
Elementeita - Lake Nakuru. After breakfast drive to Lake Nakuru National Park (30km, 20min). You will spend the day exploring this beautiful park famous for its flamingo rimmed lake in the centre. The park also offers some of the best opportunity of seeing the very rare rhino as well as the elusive leopard. You will spend the day in the park, stopping off to enjoy a picnic lunch. Later in the afternoon you return to Lake Elementaita in time for a sun downer and dinner. Overnight - Sunbird Lodge - Elementia (B, L, D)

A permanent tent at Karen Blixen Camp in the Masai Mara
Elementaita - Masai Mara. This morning we depart for the world famous Masai Mara (320km, 5 hours). The journey takes us on some rough roads across the floor of the Great Rift Valley, the longest rift in the crust of the earth. On route there will be some good opportunities to see a number of wild animals.

For your three-night Mara stay, the stunning and perfectly located Mara Simba Lodge shall accommodate you. The Mara Simba lodge blends miraculously into the surrounding wilderness. Located overlooking a dramatic bend of a tributary of the Mara river and stretching almost a kilometre along the river, the landscaped garden consisting of numerous indigenous trees attracting a superb variety of butterflies and birds merges seamlessly with the bank of the river which remain in their virgin condition. Designed to complement its surroundings, Mara Simba lodge is decorated in the traditional Masai style with an emphasis on exclusivity and comfort. On return from your afternoon game drive experience a sun downer overlooking the Talek river. Meals made from the finest fresh ingredients are prepared by experienced chefs; offering pan-African, international cuisine catering for all dietary requirements. A Karen Blixen Camp game drive in the Masai Mara
Depending on the time of year, we set out early morning for the breathtaking spectacle of ‘the greatest wildlife show on earth’, the awe inspiring annual migration of the wildebeest. The Mara is technically an extension of Tanzania’s renowned Serengeti National Park, but it’s rolling grasslands, meandering rivers and towering escarpments equals to an endless amount of game viewing. Home to a wide variety of animals, the Mara is also famous for its Big Five. Depending on the game drive, we’ll proceed back to the lodge for a late lunch, only to return again in search of more wildlife action late afternoon. A hippo in Lake Naivasha
Rise early and take the option of a balloon safari across the Masai Mara (book and pay locally). Take off in the crisp morning air, only to experience a game-viewing adventure with an entirely different perspective. As you silently float across the plains, forest and rivers for approximately an hour, your journey comes to end back on land but accompanied with a fully cooked champagne breakfast. The day sees more game viewing both in the morning and late afternoon. For the bird lovers there are over 450 species that have been identified in the Masai Mara Ecosystem. Day 6: Nairobi
Masai Mara - Nairobi. It may be the last day of safari however our game viewing does not stop. After breakfast, experience an en route game drive out of the Mara as we drive on to Nairobi. We will arrive in Nairobi mid afternoon in time for your onward journey or international flight. (B)

It is possible to combine the Kenya Uncovered Safari with the Tanzania Wildlife Week Safari, to create a 13 day safari. The start dates will be as per the Kenya Uncovered Safari.
