Take the revolving cable car to the top of Table Mountain and a boat trip to Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned, or see where the two oceans meet on a day trip to the famous Cape of Good Hope.

Discover the beautiful Winelands, just a short distance from Cape Town. Stellenbosch, the second oldest town in South Africa, offers some of the world’s finest wines as well as being a bustling university town. Paarl is nestled in the Berg River Valley with a number of traditional-styled wine farms and Franschhoek, South Africa’s very own ‘French Quarter’, is a quaint little town with world-renowned wine cellars. Make your way to Klein Karoo’s capital - Oudtshoorn today. Here there is the option to visit the Safari Ostrich Ranch or the Cango Caves to explore the ancient stalagmites and stalactites and visit endangered animals at the Cango Wildlife Ranch.

Since 1863 Oudtshoorn had become known as the ostrich capital of the world, successfully producing the best feathers, leather products and ostrich meat world wide. The town of Outdshoorn is situated in the beautiful valley between the Outeniqua and Swartberg Mountins, and is the commercial hub of the greater Klein Karoo region, which encompasses the towns of Prince Albert, De Rust and Calitzdorp. Being surrounded by mountains means that every road into Outdshoorn allows a picturesque pass, offering travellers scenes of unspoilt natural beauty. Overnight - Oudtshoorn (B)

Drive to Plettenberg Bay on day 5. Known as the jewel of the Garden Route, this tranquil town is famous for its beautiful beaches, lagoons, indigenous forests and the rugged Robberg Peninsular where you can enjoy a scenic walk around the point of the peninsular. Whilst in Plettenberg Bay why not head to beautiful Knysna and enjoy a fun and adventurous cruise to Knysna Heads?

From Keurboomstrand in the north to the Robberg Peninsula there are 15km of beaches interrupted only by the Keurbooms River mouth. Central Beach is the busiest beach in Plettenberg Bay and it is the launch site for Marine Safaris, dive charters and ocean kayaking tours. Just 2 minutes from the town, there are many restaurants, bars and facilities nearby. Keeurbooms Beach is 10km from the town and is almost "wild" in its unspoiled beauty. Robberg Beach is ideal for very long walks, it stretches for kilometres between the Robberg Peninsula and Beacon Island and offers the best shore-based whale watching in the area. Your final port of call is along South Africa’s east coast at Port Elizabeth, 800km from Cape Town. Port Elizabeth is also known as "Nelson Mandela City", the landing place of the 1820 settlers and the area that saw the first meeting of Khoisan, British, Dutch, German and Xhosa people. This major sea port and tourist destination is renowned for its sunshine and sandy beaches. Conditions in Port Elizabeth are ideal for sailing, swimming and scuba diving.

Within the city are many parks with well landscaped gardens, the largest being St Georges Park which covers 73 hectares and is home to the world famous Port Elizabeth Cricket Club, the oldest bowling green in South Africa, Prince Alfred's Guard Memorial and the 1882 Victorian Pearson Conservatory.
