Combining Kenya's rugged north, the beautiful Rift Valley, Samburu National Park, Lake Nakuru and the legendary Masai Mara, go in search of where the wild things are on a comfortable safari that packs in culture and excitement in one fell swoop.

Day 1: Nairobi
Nairobi. Welcome to Kenya! Morning arrival into Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport where you will be met and transferred to your holiday. After check in you will be taken on an excursion to visit the Karen Blixen museum and the Giraffe Centre. After which you will enjoy lunch at Karen Blixen Coffee Garden.

Karen Dinesen, later to become Karen Blixen (1885 - 1962) was a world renowned author. She was Danish born and in 1913 she and her soon to be betrothed Baron Bror Blixen-Kinecke moved from Denmark to British East Africa, later to become the independent state of Kenya, to run a coffee plantation. In 1931 the coffee plantation failed due to the world wide Great Depression leaving her financially ruined and with no choice but to return to Denmark. Karen Blixen is famous for writing several books but arguably her most well known piece of work is her memoirs of living in Africa titled 'Out of Africa'. Overnight - Nairobi (L)
Day 2: Samburu N.R.
Nairobi - Samburu National Park. After breakfast you drive North to Samburu National Reserve. You will arrive in time for a leisurely lunch and check in at your lodge before taking an afternoon game drive.

Samburu National Reserve is well known for its peaceful atmosphere. Due to the river Uaso Nyiro running through the reserve a great deal of wildlife is attracted to the area including all three big cats - lions, cheetahs and leopards - as well as elephants, buffalo, hippopotamus, zebra, impala and gazelle and a huge population of crocodiles. Samburu is also famous for being one of the areas where conservationists George Adamson and Joy Adamson raised Elsa the lioness, made famous by the book and the film 'Born Free'. Day 3: Samburu N.R.
Samburu National Park. After breakfast drive north to Samburu NP, arriving in time for lunch. This afternoon embark on your first game drive through this rugged reserve which is home to a vast variety of wildlife. Overnight - Samburu National Park (B, L, D)

Day 4: Lake Nakuru
Samburu National Park - Lake Nakuru. This morning after breakfast you depart for Lake Nakuru National Park with a stop for lunch at Thompson Falls Lodge. After which you will proceed to Lake Nakuru Lodge with game viewing on route.

Lake Nakuru National Park is famous for its flamingo rimmed lake in the centre. The park also offers some of the best opportunity of seeing the very rare rhino as well as the elusive leopard. Overnight - Lake Nakuru (B, L, D)
Lake Nakuru - Masai Mara. This morning, after breakfast you will set off for what is possibly Africa's and the world's most famous game park, the Masai Mara. You will arrive in time for lunch at your lodge after which you will take an afternoon game drive. Then return to your lodge in the late afternoon, in time to enjoy a relaxing sun downer. Overnight - Masai Mara National Park (B, L, D)

Days 6 - 7: Masai Mara N.P.
Masai Mara National Park. Over the following two days you will make the most of your stay in Masai Mara National Park with morning and afternoon game drives with free time to relax in the evening. The Masai Mara is most famous for its large population of big cats. All members of the big five are also present in the Masai Mara and other species from hippos, zebra, antelope, gazelle, giraffe, impala, hyena and more. The area is a photographers dream, you will not be disappointed. Overnight - Masai Mara National Park (B:2, L:2, D:2)
Masai Mara - Nairobi. After breakfast you will drive back to Nairobi for lunch at the aptly named Carnivore Restaurant before your onward transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport where tour arrangements end. (B, L)

After all the excitement of the game parks, why not spend a few days relaxing on the palm fringed beaches of the Kenyan coast at Mombasa. Clear blue water, pristine white beaches and great variety of restaurants and nightlife make Mombasa a great end to any safari!
