Welcome to Amazing Africa and the start of your incredible voyage! Arriving into Johannesburg airport our friendly local team await to transfer you to your hotel. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure to relax after your long flight.

Day 2: Johannesburg

Your tour today will afford you a fascinating insight into South Africa’s turbulent past! First stop, the Apartheid Museum, which opened its doors in 2002. This is where you embark on a historical voyage of discovery that examines the story of apartheid right up to the first democratic elections held in 1994. After, we visit Soweto which is the largest black residential area in South Africa. This sprawling 'city within a city' is home to many who work in various parts of the greater metropolitan area of the Witwatersrand. The remainder of the afternoon is at your leisure to explore.

Day 3: Johannesburg

Making your way out of the hustle and bustle to visit the Elephant Sanctuary at Hartbeespoort. Here, you will be guided in-depth through the park and learn about the fascinating lives, habitat and nature of the African Elephant, as well as interact directly with them.

Day 4: Johannesburg - Madikwe G.R.

This morning in your coach you will be transported to breath taking Madikwe Game Reserve. Arriving here, enjoy the activities for game viewing (shared canter) included in your package.

Days 5-6: Madikwe G.R.

For the next two days enjoy the lodge included game viewing activities (shared canter), delicious meals and down time at the lodge.

Day 7: Madikwe G.R. - Cape Town

This morning in your coach you will be transported back to the airport in J'Burg for your late afternoon flight to Cape Town. Arriving here, our friendly local team await to transfer you to your hotel. FLIGHT: JOHANNESBURG TO CAPE TOWN NOT INCLUDED - A LATE AFTERNOON FLIGHT IS REQUIRED.

Cape Point, South Africa

Day 8: Cape Town

This morning, we enjoy and excursion to Robben Island. The Island was a training and defence station in World War 2, and has also served as a place of banishment, isolation and imprisonment, which became world famous as the prison where Nelson Mandela was held for 18 years.

Day 9: Cape Town

This morning enjoy your guided exploration of the city of Cape Town, known affectionately as the Mother City. Your tour will take in the Houses of Parliament, the Castle (built between 1666 and 1679 and is South Africa’s oldest building), the lively Green market Square, the Company Gardens and of course Table Mountain, which will give you spectacular views over the city and the Peninsula.

Day 10: Cape Town

Today, you get to enjoy a fantastic full day excursion to the beautiful Winelands of the Constantia Valley for not only wine tasting but learning about the process of growing, picking and producing wine.

Cablecar to Table Mountain

Days 11-12: Cape Town

Free time to explore Cape Town. Maybe visit the V & A Waterfront and shop to your heart’s content or relax on one of the many beautiful beaches. When nightfalls, visit one of the many fantastic restaurants - perhaps try some fresh seafood, then head on to one of the many buzzing bars that Cape Town has to offer.

Day 13: Cape Town - Drakensberg Mountains

Today a transfer back to Cape Town airport in time for your flight to Durban. Arriving here meet the Car Rental rep and collect you Hyundai H1 or similar on a classic plus basis. Proceed to make you way to the Cavern in the Drakensberg Mountains – driving directions will be supplied by the rental agency. FLIGHT: CAPE TOWN TO DURBAN NOT INCLUDED.

Days 14-19: Drakensberg Mountains

Welcome to Ukhahlamba Drakensberg Park. A World Heritage Site and forms the dramatic mountain border between South Africa and the kingdom of Lesotho. Enjoy the next days at leisure to indulge in everything on offer, whether that be exploring the numerous Bushman paintings on the reserve, taking long silent hikes, going on horse trails, taking scenic mountain biking routes or spend challenging hours trout fishing in any of the five crystal dams, the choice is yours (book and pay locally for any extras).

Day 20: Drakensberg Mountains - Johannesburg

Today in your rental vans, drive to J'Burg to finish where you started. Drop off your vehicles and make your way to check in for your flight home.
