Day 1: Durban

Welcome to Durban! Upon arrival our local rep awaits to meet you and give your your documents. After, you will be shown to the vehicle and given directions for the 4 hours drive ahead to the Fugitives Drift Guest House, located at the heart of where the great battles of Isandlwana and Rorke’s Drift took place. Day 2:

The Battlefields are found in the north-central area of KwaZulu Natal, encompassing the towns of Colenso, Ladysmith, Dundee and Vryheid, where the Boers fought the British and the British fought the Zulus. Enjoy a day tour to the area by walking in the footsteps of famous military strategists - Shaka, Winston Churchill, Mahatma Gandhi and General Louis Botha, with the help of a knowledgeable guide who talks about each battle, debating the strategies used, the numbers who perished and the medals and rewards won by the brave. Day 4: - Drakensberg Mountains

Today drive yourself to the South Drakensberg mountains into the Ukhahlamba Drakensberg Park and to your lodge. (OVERNIGHT AT THE Qambathi Mountain Lodge)

Day 5: Drakensberg Mountains

Enjoy today with time to explore the region or relax at the hotel. (OVERNIGHT AT THE Qambathi Mountain Lodge)

Day 6: Drakensberg Mountains - Cape Town

Today drive yourself back to Durban airport in time for you to settle the paperwork on your car rental, and then catch the flight to Cape Town. Arrival in the city our local driver awaits to transfer you to the Abbey Manor. (OVERNIGHT AT THE Abbey Mannor)

Day 7: Cape Town - Oudtshoorn

Today you join an escorted group tour to discover the Classic Garden Route. Leaving the city you travel along Route 62 to Barrydale for lunch (not included in cost). Continue to Oudtshoorn – the 'feather capital' of the world. Visit a working ostrich farm for a guided tour. Check into your accommodation in the late afternoon. Overnight De Opstal Country Lodge (standard room) or similar

Day 8: Oudtshoorn - Knysna

Enjoy a morning tour of the Cango Caves – one of the natural wonders of the world. Continue to the lagoon side town of Knysna – the gem of the Garden Route. Enjoy some time at leisure at the Knysna Waterfront before proceeding to The Crags near Plettenberg Bay. Embark on an informative cruise up the Keurbooms River before arriving at your lodge where you shall spend the following two nights. Freshen up before dinner at the lodge. Overnight Hog Hollow Country Lodge (standard room) or similar

Day 9: Knysna

After breakfast, get up-close-and-personal with nature at the Knysna Elephant Park. The visit presents you with the opportunity to touch, feed and photograph these gentle giants. After lunch (to own account), visit Birds of Eden – the largest free-flight bird aviary in the world. Optional: Whale & Dolphin boat experience (weather & time permitting; not included) before returning to the lodge. Dinner and overnight Hog Hollow (standard room) or similar

Day 10: Knysna - Stellenbosch

After breakfast and check-out formalities, journey along the final leg of the Garden Route to the beautiful Tsitsikamma National Park. Enjoy a walk along the suspension bridge across the Storms River mouth gorge which offers visitors incredible views and photo opportunities. The tour terminates in Port Elizabeth at approximately 18:00 with drop-off at the airport for your flight to Cape Town. Arriving into Cape Town collect your car rental and head into the winelands to the town of Stellenbosch. (OVERNIGHT AT THE Oude Werf Hotel)

Day 11: Stellenbosch

Head out today in your car rental to visit wine estates at your leisure. (OVERNIGHT AT THE Oude Werf Hotel)

Day 12: Stellenbosch - Hermanus

Today drive your way to Hermanus. Arriving here, check into your hotel. (OVERNIGHT AT THE 138 Marine Beachfront Guest House)

Today and tomorrow enjoy time at your leisure to explore the region with your car.

Day 15: Hermanus - Pretoria

This morning early make sure you drop off your car in good time to catch the 07:30 am Blue Train. The train leaves Cape Town at 08:30 and it makes a stop at Matjiesfontein for an off-the-train excursion, where you are invited for a glass of sherry at the bar. The Victorian buildings and original nineteenth century London lampposts, give this quaint town a strong Colonial atmosphere, taking visitors back to yesteryear.

Day 16: Pretoria

The train arrives in Pretoria at 12:30 the today just in time for high tea. You will then be transferred to the Sheraton Hotel Pretoria.

Today we have organised a private transfer to take your from Pretoria to Sun City (accommodation not included). Upon arrival thus concludes our arrangements.
