Hazyview Travel

Hazyview is named after the haze that covers the bush during the heat of summer. The small farming town is known for its banana industry and being just outside of Kruger means the area jeasr of Hazyview has many private game reserves. With beautiful landscapes all around, hot air ballooning is a spectacular experience, with stunning views over the lands.

Hiking trails are plentiful and there are superb restaurants, all with great food and wine choices. Not far away is the Shangana Cultural Village where you can gain an insight of the cultures in the area. Quad-biking, abseiling and river rafting are all available from Hazyview as well.

Just 5 kilometres from Hazyview is the Elephant Sanctuary, a halfway house for young African elephants in need of a temporary home. It is the only operation in South Africa that provides for elephants in this way – the Elepehant Sanctuary has 3 sites, the one in Hazyview, one in Plettenberg Bay and one at Hartbeespoort Dam. The aim of the sanctuaries is to release all the elephants into an environment where they can be more independent once they are older.
