Welcome to Johannesburg and the start of your holiday. You will be met on arrival and transferred to your hotel for check in. Enjoy the remainder of today at your leisure.
Today you will fly from Johannesburg to Hoedspruit Airport (flight not included) where you will be met and transferred to Kapama Buffalo Camp where you will spend the next 4 nights. Reminiscent of a traditional African safari camp, Kapama Buffalo Camp offers a unique and intimate experience in the African bush. It is ideal for discovering big game Africa in true safari tented style without compromising on comfort.
Enjoy your included activities of game drives and bushwalks daily. Kapama Private Game Reserve occupies a vast area between the northern Drakensberg mountains and the Greater Kruger National Park. It is the largest single-owner game reserve in the region and has all the Big 5 African animals in abundance. Kapama's natural environment and sweetveld ecosystem offers guests the opportunity to have close encounters with all the African animals that traditionally roam this area.
Expect a wake up call at between 5am and 5.30am and gather for tea or coffee and rusks before heading out at first light. If you are lucky, the big cats will still be around after their night of hunting. This is Big 5 country (Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino and Buffalo) all of which are possible to see during a safari in Kapama Game Reserve.
There are many species to be seen, large and small, as well as fascinating plants and colourful birds. Stop halfway through the morning game drive for hot drinks and rusks from the Landrover snack box and return at around 9am for breakfast. During the rest of the day, you are likely to see wildlife like nyala antelope and vervet monkeys around the lodges.
Today you will transfer to Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve (transfer not included) where you will spend the next 4 nights at Sabi Sabi Little Bush Camp. Nestling in the shade of indigenous riverine trees on the banks of the Msuthlu river lies Little Bush Camp offering luxury accommodation. Exuding warmth and effortless hospitality, Little Bush Camp offers unparalled intimacy and seclusion. Your package includes a one way flight to Johannesburg, luxury accommodation, daily safaris by day and night to see Africas big game accompanied by qualified rangers and Shangaan trackers, environmental awareness walking safaris, full breakfast, lunch and boma dinner, sundowner drinks, selected beverages and South African house wines.
Sabi Sabi epitomises Africa's magic. With no fences between the reserve and the Kruger Park, big game abounds, moving freely through this unspoiled part of the ancient African continent. The Reserve is blessed with a great biodiversity of habitat and wildlife giving an excellent chance of close encounters with the 'Big Five' - elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard - as well as wild dog and cheetah. With over 300 bird species, the reserve is a birdwatcher's delight.
There has been no hunting here for over half a century and the animals have become habituated to - and relaxed in the presence of - safari vehicles. Look forward to the unique experience of close encounters with animals as they continue unperturbed in their natural daily patterns of hunting, feeding, courting and suckling. Safaris take place each morning and evening in open Land Rovers which drive through a wide variety of habitats, allowing you to view the vast interactions of the wild. After breakfast, join us on a guided walk to experience the natural environment on foot. The dedicated, highly trained and experienced Rangers lead you to discover miracles of nature you may never have dreamed existed.
An early morning call from the Ranger will wake you before first light, while the kitchen brews hot coffee or tea, and prepares cool fruit juices with a muffin, rusk or other freshly made delicacy. So begins the morning safari. The bush is already alive, the air filled with birdsong as the rising sunlight dances off beads of dew on spiders' webs. Nobody, not even the tracker who can read the bushveld like a book, knows what's in store. He will watch the road for spoor, leaning forward intently to find any print left by a predator during its hunt in the dark.
Included flight today back to Johannesburg where you will connect with your flight to Sun City (flight Joburg/Sun City not included). The magnificent Palace of the Lost City at Sun City is a fairytale African palace that towers over the scenic valley. Inspired by a fantasy lost African tribe, the Palace has been lavishly created with rich architecture, mosaics and frescos that add to the mystical ambience and magical aura of this grand hotel. The hotel is surrounded by lush botanical gardens, trickling streams and hidden walking trails that ensure that the Palace does indeed feel like a lost city.
Safaris, water sports, golf or gambling, the choice is yours to enjoy Africa’s Kingdom of Pleasure at your leisure.
Today you will transfer from Sun City to Cape Town (flight not included). Enjoy the next few days at your leisure. Overlooking the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront with views of Table Mountain, Robben Island, the Harbour and the Atlantic Ocean is The Commodore Hotel. Stylish accommodation, quality service and a tranquil setting ensure a pleasurable stay.
Cape Town's name originated from the term 'Cape of Good Hope' when Bartholomew Diaz and other seafarers looked forward to the sight of Table Mountain, like an inn that promised hospitality and prosperity. The oldest existing building in South Africa, the Castle, was built in 1666 to protect the new settlement at the Cape. The top of Table Mountain offers spectacular views in all directions and gives a birds eye view of the city. The upper cable car station is situated at 1067m and the revolving cable car makes sure that your trip up and down gives you a good look in all directions. Once on top, you can follow paths to various look-out points, make use of the telescopes, and enjoy a light meal or simply a sundowner drink in the restaurant.
Today your tour concludes after breakfast and hotel check out.
