Day 1: Johannesburg

Welcome to Johannesburg! You will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Johannesburg stems from gold and diamond mining, dating back to the 1800’s, and the city’s local name, Egoli, means The City of Gold. Today Johannesburg is the powerhouse of Africa and home to the continents busiest airport. Johannesburg is a wealthy and fast-paced city, one of the largest metropolitan areas in the world, earning its reputation as the “New York of Africa”, while also being considered as one of the largest man-made forests in the world.

Day 2: Johannesburg - Kruger N.P.

Today, we transfer you to Hoedspruit airport for your transfer to your lodge by lodge vehicle. Situated in the Limpopo Province, Kapama is one of South Africa’s largest privately owned game reserves, occupying 13,000 hectares of prime ‘Big Five’ country in the Valley of the Olifants (Elephant Valley), which is situated between the northern Drakensberg mountains and the Greater Kruger National Park. The Reserve is in close proximity to Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport, and is also home to the Hoedspruit Centre for Endangered Species, which concentrates primarily on the rehabilitation of the endangered cheetah.

Days 3-5: Kruger N.P.

Located in the 13,000 hectare Kapama Private Game Reserve, which lies north of the Sabi Sand and west of the Timbavati, is Kapama River Lodge. The largest of four lodges in this reserve, Kapama River Lodge lies in a bend of the usually dry, Kapama River. Activities at Kapama River Lodge include morning and afternoon game drives daily (shared canter). Includes: All meals, teas and snacks, two daily safari activities per day.

Day 6: Kruger N.P. - Johannesburg

You will have a road transfer to Hoedspruit airport by lodge vehicle. Then will be transferred from Hoedspruit airport back to Johannesburg. Free time this afternoon.

Day 7: Johannesburg - Victoria Falls

Transfer to the Johannesburg airport. FLIGHT: JOHANNESBURG TO VICTORIA FALLS NOT INCLUDED. PLEASE PROVIDE FLIGHT DETAILS SO WE CAN ARRANGE TRANSFERS. Welcome to Victoria Falls, you will be met at the airport and transferred to your accommodation.

Day 8: Victoria Falls

Free time in Victoria Falls. Zimbabwe is home to arguably the world’s most beautiful precipice, UNESCO-listed Victoria Falls. Victoria Falls, described by the Kololo tribe living in the area in the 1800’s as ‘Mosi-oa-Tunya’ - ‘the smoke that thunders’, is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Located between Zambia and Zimbabwe, the Zambezi River widens to 1.7 km and then the full width of the river plunges 108m down into the Zambezi Gorge. The force of the tumbling water, estimated at around 545 million litres per minute during the rainy season, sends clouds of spray up to 500m into the air, sustaining a lush rainforest all around.
