Cape Point, South Africa

Day 1: Cape Town

Welcome to Cape Town, and the start of your eye-opening adventure! Our friendly team will be waiting in the arrivals hall to transfer you to your hotel where you can relax for the rest of the day.

Day 2: Cape Town

Today you will embark on a half day tour of Cape Town. First we take a cable car up Table Mountain for spectacular views of the city. We then take in the Houses of Parliament, the Castle (built between 1666 and 1679 - making it South Africa's oldest building) and the lively Greenmarket Square with its daily market, the Company Gardens. If you choose to head up the mountain you will visit Bo-Kaap after this. Bo-Kaap is home to the Cape Malay community and is full of cobbled streets and brightly coloured houses. From here you have the choice to be dropped at the hotel or the Waterfront to experience the vibrant location at your own pace with its many shops, restaurants and bars.

Day 3: Cape Town

Today you embark on a full day tour of the Cape Peninsula. Take in the beaches of Clifton, Camps Bay and Hout Bay. From here you drive to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve via Chapman's Peak, one of the world's most breath taking coastal drives, where you will board a funicular to get to the top of the Peninsula to witness the symbolic meeting of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans and enjoy spectacular views over False Bay. This afternoon continue to Simonstown, the naval base, and visit the African Penguin breeding colony at Boulders Beach. Then stop at the world- renowned Kirstenbosch Gardens before heading back to your hotel.

Days 4-6: Cape Town

Spend the next few days at your leisure to explore the city in your own time.

Day 7: Cape Town - Stellenbosch

Today we drive you out of the city to Stellenbosch. Arriving here, settle into your hotel and relax for the afternoon.

Day 8: Stellenbosch

Today is a free day. There is plenty to do with optional activities such as a wine farm visit, wine tasting, wine cellar tours, nature walks and Horse Riding. (Optional activities can be booked and paid locally at your hotel).

Day 9: Stellenbosch - Mossel Bay

This morning we make our way to the coast, stopping at the Cango Caves in Outdshoorn to explore the ancient stalagmites and stalactites . We then travel over the Outeniqua Mountains and arrive at Mossel Bay and to your hotel. (OVERNIGHT AT THE Protea Hotel Mossel Bay)

Day 10: Mossel Bay

Enjoy a day to explore Mossel Bay at your leisure. (OVERNIGHT AT THE Protea Hotel Mossel Bay)

Day 11: Mossel Bay - Knysna

This morning we leave Mossel Bay and follow the coastal road to your next port of call Knysna. (OVERNIGHT AT THE REX HOTEL KNYSNA)

Day 12: Knysna

Enjoy the day to wander around Knysna - we would highly recommend you go out to see the world renowned headlands in your own time. (OVERNIGHT AT THE REX HOTEL KNYSNA)

Day 13: Knysna

Today your driver will take you to Tsitisikamma National Park and Storms River for hiking, nature walks and canopy tours. You will need to pay the entrance ticket to the park locally. (OVERNIGHT AT THE REX HOTEL KNYSNA)

Day 14: Knysna - Kruger N.P.

This morning we drive to Port Elizabeth and fly to Hoedspruit Airport, your gateway to Kruger National Park. Arriving here, the team from the lodge will meet you and drive you by jeep to the resort.

Days 15-17: Kruger N.P.

Kruger is the flagship of Africa and South Africa’s game reserves, offering an exceptional safari experience. Spend the next two days enjoying full day game drives in the National Park. You will also have time to sit back, relax at your lodge and enjoy the beautiful surroundings and sounds of the wild!

Day 18: Kruger N.P. - Rorke's Drift

Today we have an early flight to Durban from Kruger airport, arriving here we make our way towards the shores of the Buffalo River to the Fugitive’s Drift Game Reserve and KwaZulu-Natal Battlefields. Set within the game reserve the guest house offers fantastic views over the park grounds. Keep an eye out for zebra, giraffe or antelope from the comfort of your private veranda or the outdoor pool. Nearby you’ll find an interesting museum displaying artefacts and relics from the region, and if you are feeling adventurous you can opt for some additional excursions, like horseback riding or fishing on the Buffalo River. Day 19: Rorke's Drift

First stop this morning is the Isandlwana Battlefield, the site of the first major battle between British and Zulu forces during the Anglo- Zulu War, which ended in an overwhelming victory for the Zulus. Later head back to Rorke’s Drift, to the site of one of Britain’s more victorious battles. Here listen to the story of when a small group of just over 100 British soldiers victoriously defended their station against over 4,500 Zulu warriors. Day 20: Rorke's Drift

Spend today at leisure at the hotel - you can book optional activities such as horse riding, fishing and more with the hotel. (OVERNIGHT AT THE Fugitives' Drift Lodge)

Early we drive back to Durban airport in time for your flight home.
