Reaching for leaves

Day 1: Samburu N.R.

Welcome to Kenya! Morning arrival into Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport where you will be met by our friendly local team and transferred to Samburu Game Reserve found in the semi-arid Northern Frontier district via Mount Kenya area of Central Part of Kenya. The drive is for 5 – 6 hours through the beautiful surroundings as you pass the Kikuyu Farmlands along the way where one can see pineapple and coffee plantations. Picnic Lunch will be served enroute. Arrive in the mid-afternoon and proceed for a game drive in search for lions, elephants, gerenuk, grevy’s zebra, onyx, the reticulated giraffe and other plains game.

Day 2: Samburu N.R.

Early morning game drive for a chance to spot early wildlife activity in the wee hours. Samburu is generally a hot place with cool nights temperatures between 18– 30 degrees C. Return for breakfast at the campsite and later proceed for an optional further game drive. Return for lunch at the campsite, afternoon siesta at the campsite or a visit to the nearest Lodge for a shower or swim at extra cost followed by an evening game drive, dinner and overnight at the campsite.

Day 3: Samburu N.R. - Mt Kenya

Early breakfast and break-up camp; afterwards depart for Mount Kenya to arrive in time for lunch followed by an afternoon nature walk to the Mau Mau Caves located in the Mount Kenya forest. Dinner and overnight at the Bantu Campsite.

Day 4: Mt Kenya - Lake Nakuru

Early morning breakfast and thereafter drive past the northern tip of the Aberdares Mountains to Thompson's Fall in Nyahururu Town, a short break followed by descend into the Great Rift Valley where Lake Nakuru is located, the drive takes 3 to 4 hours. Spend the afternoon on extensive game drive within the park which is described as an ornithologist paradise and one of the world’s most magnificent sights. arrival set-up the tents at the Campsite or Guest House inside the National Park. Afterwards proceed on for an evening game drive then return to your camp for dinner.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru - Masai Mara N.P.

After breakfast proceed to Masai Mara via Narok Town where the vehicle will be refueled. Arrive at the Mara adventure Campsite in time for lunch. The reserve is a jewel of Kenya’s wildlife areas and the most popular tourism destination in the world. After lunch proceed on for a game drive in search for Black manned Lions, Elephants, Leopards, Buffalo, Rhino and other plains game.

Day 6: Masai Mara N.P.

Early breakfast & depart the campsite with picnic lunch for full day game drives. The game drive extends to Mara River – hippo point where lunch is enjoyed. Thereafter, proceed on the game drive in search of many other plains game, returning to the campsite by 6 p.m for a much earned dinner.

Day 7: Masai Mara N.P.

This morning enjoy your last game drive then return for breakfast thereafter leave for Nairobi enjoying a picnic lunch arriving by 4 p.m drop off at the airport for your flight home.
