Day 1: Nairobi

Welcome to Africa and the start of your holiday with On the Go Tours. Clients will be met on arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transferred to their hotel in Nairobi. The rest of the day is free to enjoy at leisure.

Day 2: Nairobi - Amboseli

Your driver guide will pick you up in the morning and depart for Amboseli National Park. Lunch at the lodge will be followed by an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 3: Amboseli

Morning and afternoon game drives in the Amboseli National Park. Amboseli is one of the most popular safari parks in Kenya. The park is renowned for the spectacular backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro – the highest mountain in Africa. Guided bush walks (with a trained Masai guide) are included. A visit to one of the local Masai manyattas (villages) can also be arranged. All meals and overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge.

Day 4: Amboseli - Mt Kenya

This morning Kenya’s highest mountain awaits you. Transfer from Amboseli national park to the magnificent Mount Kenya, standing 5,199 metres tall and a UNESCO Natural World Heritage site. Located at 2,134 meters above sea level, on the lower slopes of the mountain, our lodge is cool, tranquil and hushed for optimum game-sightings. The open-air viewing-deck looks down on to a water hole and salt-lick, which attracts numerous herds of elephant and buffalo. There is also a tunnel leading to a photo-hide.

Day 5: Mt Kenya - Elementeita

Depart for Lake Elementaita, a soda ash lake playing host to tens of thousands of flamingos. Located of the famous Great Rift Valley, this small but beautiful lake offers you a chance to relax or choose from a number of optional activities such as horse riding, bird viewing or a visit to the natural warm spa that flows into the lake.

Day 6: Elementeita

After a hearty breakfast you will set out on a full day's game drive to Lake Nakuru National park. The lake itself is world famous for one of the greatest bird spectacles on earth. View sometimes over one million bright pink flamingos as they feed on an abundant of algae in the lake's waters. The area was recently extended to accommodate 25 rhinos - the largest concentrations in the country. Lunch is taken in the park at a lovely picnic site overlooking the lake. Return to your lodge at Lake Elementaita for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Elementeita - Masai Mara N.P.

From Lake Elementaita, this safari only gets better as you proceed to the world-renowned Masai Mara National Reserve. An on-route game drive through the reserve will only get you excited for the upcoming days. On return from your afternoon game drive experience a sundowner overlooking the Talek river.

Day 8: Masai Mara N.P.

Rise early and take the option of a balloon safari across the Masai Mara. Take off in the crisp morning air, only to experience a game-viewing adventure with an entirely different perspective. As you silently float across the plains, forest and rivers for approximately an hour, your journey comes to end back on land but accompanied with a fully cooked champagne breakfast. Morning and afternoon game drives in the Mara Reserve. All meals at the lodge.

Day 9: Masai Mara N.P.

Day 10: Masai Mara N.P. - Lake Manyara N.P.

Breakfast at the lodge. Transfer to the airstrip for your flight back to Nairobi departing at 1100 hrs to arrive at 1215hrs. Connect to your flight to Kilimanjaro departing at 1240hrs to arrive at 1330 hrs where you will be met by our local representative and your professional driver/guide and taken to Arusha Hotel for lunch. After lunch the safari commences with a short drive to Lake Manyara (120kms, 2 hours) The Park is tucked below the majesty of the Rift Valley wall and the white-hot shores of an ancient soda lake, famous for its tree-climbing lions, lying languidly among the branches in the heat of the day and the dazzling variety of birds.

Day 11: Lake Manyara N.P. - Serengeti N.P.

After breakfast drive to Serengeti National Park (250km, 5 hour). You will pass through the forested slopes of Ngorongoro, before the predator rich plains of the Serengeti un-furl before you, Continue your journey to your camp with some excellent game viewing opportunities en-route. You will stop for a picnic lunch.

Day 12: Serengeti N.P.

There's nothing like an early morning start allowing you to experience one of the most ultimate game viewing experiences, after a hot cup of tea or coffee you will soon be wide-awake as you watch wildlife in its most active time. The cat family love to make appearances in the morning, while the early morning light makes photographing herds of wildlife a photographer's dream.

Day 13: Serengeti N.P. - Ngorongoro Crater

Today we head to Ngorongoro Crater. This incredible formation is part of the larger Ngorongoro Conservation Area, which covers more than 8300 square kilometers. The actual crater is 260 square kilometers and 620m deep. The original volcano was probably as high as or higher than Kilimanjaro.

Day 14: Ngorongoro Crater

To experience the crater without the crowds you will rise early for your half day game drive. Reaching the crater floor as the sun begins to rise; you will undoubtedly be amazed at this natural phenomenon before you. The Ngorongoro Crater is home to about 25,000 animals and is one of the last places in Tanzania where the Big Five can be seen.

Day 15: Ngorongoro Crater - Tarangire N.P.

After breakfast we leave for Tarangire National Park (140km, 3 hours). This is the classic Africa of lore with shimmering acacia stands, old baobab trees, Masai tribes and herds of elephant. In the dry-season of July-October, Tarangire National Park surpasses the Serengeti in terms of animal concentration as big herds begin to congregate around the permanent water of Tarangire River.

Day 16: Tarangire N.P. - Mafia Island

Depart for Arusha where we will transfer you to the airport for the flight to Mafia Island. On arrival we will transfer you to the hotel.

Days 17-20: Mafia Island

Free days to relax on the pristine beaches, snorkel or dive, take a 4x4 drive or visit one of the other islands. There are daily excursions in Chole Bay and snorkelling included.

Day 21: Mafia Island

We will transfer you to the airport for the flight to Dar es Salaam. Our services will end with your arrival into Dar es Salaam.
