Welcome to Botswana and the start of your exclusive journey through what can only be described as magic scenery, wildlife and landscapes. Arriving into Kasane Airport you will be met by your team of chef/driver/guide and driven through great scenery to your campsite in Chobe National Park. You will arrive in camp in the afternoon where you can either relax and enjoy your new surroundings or proceed on a short game drive and have a sundowner near the Chobe river.
Enjoy the day going in search of wildlife on your game drives and in the afternoon spot wildlife on a Chobe River boat cruise.
Breaking camp early this morning you and your team pack up and move onto to Savute located in the south/west region of Chobe. The drive of around 5 hours is pretty much one big game drive but after arriving at camp and setting up you will certainly be heading out by 4x4 to explore the local resident wildlife.
Enjoy the whole day to explore Savute. An early start in the morning with a break in camp during the heat of the day for lunch and a rest, then back out in the afternoon ensures the best chances of seeing plentiful game. The Marsh in Savuti is typical grassland surrounded by Acacia bush and stony outcrops. Savute is famous for its lone elephant bulls, its lions and hyaenas as well as the zebra and wildebeest migrations. Other game one can hope to see include: giraffe, tsessebe, warthog, black-backed jackal, leopard, cheetah, bateared fox, impala, wild dog and kudu.
Breaking camp early this morning you and your team pack up and move onto to Moremi Game Reserve which in fact is a protected extension of the Okavango Delta. The drive of around 5 hours is pretty much one big game drive but after arriving at camp and setting up you will certainly be heading out by 4x4 to explore the local resident wildlife.
Spend the day exploring Moremi Game Reserve which covers some 4,871 km² (70% of which is part of the Okavango Delta) and is considered one of the most beautiful wildlife reserves in Africa, as it combines mopane woodland and acacia forests, lily covered wetlands, flood plains and lagoons. Moremi consists of a network of waterways surrounding two large islands - Chiefs Island in the west and Mopane Tongue in the east. In this pristine wilderness area birdlife is prolific and as Moremi is a fenced reserve, game viewing is impressive throughout the year. Elephants are numerous, as well buffalo, giraffe, lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog, hyena, jackal and antelope.
Today and tomorrow we drive away from the Khwai region into the Okavango Delta to explore a different region of Moremi Game Reserve’s diverse eco system for 2 days. This part of Okavango is typical wetland and the scenery varies from grassy flood plains dotted with large termite mounds to well-developed mopane forests and riverine woodland; from meandering streams to large open lagoons from small islands fringed with palms to larger islands with riparian forests of sausage and ebony trees. The Okavango Delta’s beauty is beyond compare. There are additional options to do a boat cruise or mokoro trip for a half or whole day while in the Delta. (Cost of water based activities in the Delta not included)
Sadly your epic wildlife adventure has come to an end, the team will transfer you to Maun Airport in time for your flight home.
