Day 7: Mombasa - Masai Mara N.P.

Today we will transfer you to the airport for the flight to Masai Mara. Upon arrival we will transfer you to the lodge. The Mara is technically an extension of Tanzania’s renowned Serengeti National Park, but its rolling grasslands, meandering rivers and towering escarpments offer an endless amount of game viewing. Home to a wide variety of animals, the Mara is also famous for the ‘Big Five’.

Day 8: Masai Mara N.P. - Mt Kenya

Rise early and take the option of a balloon safari across the Masai Mara. Take off in the crisp morning air, only to experience a game-viewing adventure with an entirely different perspective. As you silently float across the plains, forest and rivers for approximately an hour, your journey comes to end back on land but accompanied with a fully cooked champagne breakfast. The day sees more game viewing both in the morning and late afternoon. For the bird lovers there are over 450 species that have been identified in the Masai Mara Ecosystem.

Day 9: Mt Kenya

We will fly to Nairobi and then drive to Sweetwaters Game Sanctuary. Being one of only four private game conservancies founded in Kenya, the area has a higher wildlife-to-area ratio than any Kenya National Parks, making it perfect for intimate game-viewing experiences.

Day 10: Mt Kenya - Samburu N.R.

Full day at Sweetwaters Sanctuary. Today you will have the opportunity to enjoy the activities at the sanctuary. Located on an exclusive game conservancy, which also hosts its own chimpanzee sanctuary, cultural village and educational centre, Sweetwaters Tented Camp offers a wide range of experiences, offering a greater game to area ratio than any Kenyan national parks. We will take you to the chimpanzee sancturary.

Day 11: Samburu N.R.

Rise early for breakfast before transferring to Samburu National Reserve with an on-route game drive. As you enter the reserve, two beautiful mountains, Koitogor and Ololokwe present themselves forming the perfect background to your safari. Large herds of elephants, plentiful big cats, reticulated giraffes, buffalo and gerenuks also form part of the reserve’s large and diverse wildlife population. Ewaso Nyiro River is the main attraction for wildlife, but many animals are also found in the various habitats such as acacia, river forest, thorn trees and grasslands.

Day 12: Samburu N.R.

Sleep in or rise early, but we recommend getting out into bush first thing to experience prime wildlife activity. As you continue with your game drive through this scenically and wildlife dramatic reserve, watch out for the unique Grevy’s zebra or Beisa Oryx, both species only found north of the equator. Find relief from the hot African sun back at the lodge as you chill-out in the afternoon. As the day cools, you shall return to the reserve for one last game drive and to take sundowners at a beautiful location.
