On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Situated at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, your home for the night has stunning views of the Africa's tallest mountain. On arrival at the hotel you will be given a short safari briefing and the rest of the day is at leisure. Later on dinner is served at the hotel.
We spend the morning on a game drive through Tarangire National Park with its shimmering acacia sands, old baobab trees, Masai tribes and herds of elephant. In the dry season of July - October, Tarangire National Park surpasses the Serengeto on terms of animal concentration as big herds begin to congregate around the Tarangire River. In the afternoon we continue on to Karatu and our lodge in the Ngorongoro Highlands.
We set off to the vast plains of the Serengeti on a full day game drive taking a picnic lunch with us before checking into our lodge on the outskirts of the park. You will have more time to explore a larger area of the Serengeti, with its various landscapes, from savannahs, forests, dry river beds and rocky kopjes, all of which offering a better environment for a whole range of animals. Our picnic lunch will be enjoyed in a secluded spot in the park among the wildlife.
Another full day in the magnificent Serengeti awaits with an early start ensuring we see the animals at their most active.
After the thrills of the Serengeti game drive, we have a full day driving through the Serengeti towards the Ngorongoro Crater ending up at the Bougainvillea Lodge and passing through incredible scenery and game rich country en route.
We head to the Ngorongoro Crater, descending into the crater floor itself, for an exciting game drive. We spend the morning exploring this fascinating wildlife amphitheatre, home to nearly 25,000 animals, which remain in the crater due to the constant supply of water from the springs.
This morning we enjoy a final game drive in Lake Manyara National Park whose shores are a shimmer of pink, due to the large flamingo population and which was dubbed as the ‘loveliest lake in Africa’ by Ernest Hemingway. We have a morning in the park on a game drive and if we're lucky we'll see the tree climbing lions that the park is famous for. Then we travel via Arusha back to Kilimanjaro Airport for your onward flight. Please make sure international onward flights are booked AFTER 6pm, or 5pm for domestic flights.
