Nosy Komba (Island of lemurs) is a small volcanic island lying midway between Nosy Be and the mainland of Madagascar. Nosy Komba is located on the dry south side of the island.
The volcanic hills run down into the water, with numerous sandy coves and sheltered harbours for the fishing villages. The beaches are beautiful - making it easy to spend hours on the beach-front snorkelling or relaxing. There are several walking trails and an excellent opportunity to observe lemur behaviour, especially black lemurs. Nosy Komba is the place to go if you want to get close to the lemurs and observe their behaviour and mannerisms. If you are lucky, marine turtles may be spotted.
The villagers of Nosy Komba provide a spectacular display of tribal dancing for visitors and sell a variety of interesting handicrafts and produce which are unique to the island.
