Welcome to Cape Town and the start of your African Adventure! You will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Enjoy a half day tour of Cape Town which includes the Houses of Parliament, the Castle (built between 1666 and 1679 - making it South Africa's oldest building) and the lively Greenmarket Square with its daily market, the Company Gardens. Continue on to Table Mountain which will give you spectacular views over the city and Peninsula (cable car fee is not included as it is weather dependent). If you choose to head up the mountain you will visit Bo-Kaap, home to the Cape Malay community and is full of cobbled streets and brightly coloured houses.
Today you embark on a full day tour of the Cape Peninsular. Take in the beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay, before crossing over to Hout Bay, where you may choose to join an optional boat cruise to Seal Island. From here drive to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve via Chapman's Peak, one of the world's most breath taking coastal drives. You will board a funicular to get to the top of the Peninsula to witness the symbolic meeting of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans and enjoy spectacular views over False Bay. Continue to Simonstown the naval base, visit the African Penguin breeding colony at Boulders Beach and stop at the world- renowned Kirstenbosch Gardens.
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Chitwa Chitwa. You will be met on arrival and transferred to Chitwa Chitwa Game Lodge overlooking the largest lake in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve, the oldest of all the private reserves in South Africa. Sharing a 50km unfenced border with the Kruger National Park, this immense (65 000 hectare) reserve is home to The Big Five.
Over the next 2 days you will enjoy morning and afternoon game drives. During the day relax and enjoy the facilities of the lodge or partake in daily walking safaris. Two rivers supply the game reserve with a valuable water source which ensures that this area enjoys one of the highest and most bio-diverse wildlife populations of any area in Africa. Over two hundred different species live in abundance. The Sabi Sand Reserve enjoys good quality viewing of leopard (the most elusive of predators), as well as elephant, lion, rhino, buffalo, cheetah, giraffe, zebra and a vast variety of antelope and other species.
