Day 1: Nairobi

Welcome to Kenya! Arrive into Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport where you will be met by your local representative and your guide/driver. After check in you will be taken on an excursion to visit the Karen Blixen museum and the Giraffe Centre. After which you will enjoy lunch at Karen Blixen Coffee Garden.

Day 2: Nairobi - Samburu N.R.

After breakfast you drive North to Samburu National Reserve. You will arrive in time for a leisurely lunch and check in at your lodge before taking an afternoon game drive. Samburu National Reserve is well known for its peaceful atmosphere. Due to the river Uaso Nyiro running through the reserve a great deal of wildlife is attracted to the area including all three big cats - lions, cheetahs and leopards - as well as elephants, buffalo, hippopotamus, zebra, impala and gazelle and a huge population of crocodiles. Samburu is also famous for being one of the areas where conservationists George Adamson and Joy Adamson raised Elsa the lioness, made famous by the book and the film 'Born Free'.

Day 3: Samburu N.R.

After breakfast drive north to Samburu NP, arriving in time for lunch. This afternoon embark on your first game drive through this rugged reserve which is home to a vast variety of wildlife.

Day 4: Samburu N.R. - Lake Nakuru

This morning after breakfast you depart for Lake Nakuru National Park with a stop for lunch at Thompson Falls Lodge. After which you will proceed to your Lodge with game viewing on route. Lake Nakuru National Park is famous for its flamingo rimmed lake in the centre. The park also offers some of the best opportunity of seeing the very rare rhino as well as the elusive leopard.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru - Lake Naivasha

This morning after breakfast, you will depart for lake Naivasha. You will arrive at your lodge in Naivasha in time for a mid-morning check in and a leisurely lunch on the green lawns of the Lodge. On the banks of Lake Naivasha is the elegantly designed Naivasha Sopa lodge. Your afternoon is spent at leisure and you may choose to take a boat ride on the lake or visist Crscent island (all extra costs)

Day 6: Lake Naivasha - Masai Mara N.P.

Depart after breakfast and drive to Masai Mara arriving for lunch at your lodge.For your stay in Mara you will be at the Mara Simba Lodge. Situated on a bend of the Talek River the Mara Simba lodge is surrounded by beautiful gardens and amazing wildlife in the heart of the Masai Mara. Famous for the great migration the Mara is the most popular stop on anyone’s safari to Kenya. Afternoon game drive in the Mara Reserve followed by a sundowner (without drinks).

Day 7: Masai Mara N.P.

Own hot air ballooning booked - you will be collected from the lodge at 4.45am and dropped back by about 10am. The day sees more game viewing both in the morning and late afternoon. For the bird lovers there are over 450 species that have been identified in the Maasai Mara Ecosystem.

Day 8: Masai Mara N.P.

After breakfast you will drive back to Nairobi for lunch at the aptly named Carnivore Restaurant before your onward transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport where tour arrangements end.
