Day 2: Mt. Kilimanjaro & Moshi - Karatu

We spend the morning on a game drive through Tarangire National Park with its shimmering acacia sands, old baobab trees, Masai tribes and herds of elephant. In the dry season of July - October, Tarangire National Park surpasses the Serengeti on terms of animal concentration as big herds begin to congregate around the Tarangire River. In the afternoon we continue on to Karatu and our lodge in the Ngorongoro Highlands.

Day 3: Karatu - Serengeti N.P.

Today you will set off on a full day game drive taking a picnic lunch with you. You will have more time to explore a larger area of the Serengeti, with its various landscapes, from savannahs, forests, dry river beds and rocky kopjes, all of which offering a better environment for a whole range of animals. Your picnic lunch will be enjoyed in a secluded spot in the park among the wildlife. Return to your lodge in the late afternoon, in time to enjoy a relaxing sun downer.

Day 4: Serengeti N.P.

There’s nothing like an early morning start allowing you to experience one of the most ultimate game viewing sessions. The cat family love to make appearances in the morning, while the early morning light makes photographing herds of wildlife a photographer’s dream. After lunch at camp, return to the park's open plains in search for more wildlife viewing and experiences. As the evening light approaches, you will have sundowners at a picturesque location in the park.

Day 5: Serengeti N.P. - Ngorongoro Crater

After the thrills of the Serengeti game drive, you will have a full day driving through the Serengeti towards the Ngorongoro Crater ending up at the Bougainvillea Lodge. You will have left the Serengeti with a packed lunch which you can enjoy on the way to the Ngorongoro Highlands, passing through some incredible scenery and game rich country. You will arrive at your lodge in time for a relaxing drink and a delicious dinner in the lush surroundings of your lodge.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater

Today you will depart for the Ngorongoro Crater, descending into the crater floor itself, for a game drive. Spend the morning exploring this fascinating wildlife amphitheater. Home to nearly 25,000 animals, which remain in the crater due to the constant supply of water from the springs. There is a very good chance of spotting the big five: lion, elephant, endangered black rhino, buffalo and leopard plus countless other African mammal species. This caldera, formed by a volcano sinking, hosts a unique cross-section of eco-systems, from Soda Lake to savannah and is home to almost every major species of African mammal.
