Welcome to Kenya! Morning arrival into Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport where you will be met and transferred to the hotel. We will take you to the Elephant Orphanage and then return you to the hotel.
Today we set off for Samburu National Reserve. Arrive in time for lunch at Samburu Lodge. Afternoon game drive in the reserve.
Today you will take both morning and afternoon game drives and will also have the option to take part in a safari to Buffalo Springs. Buffalo Springs Nature Reserve is not part of Samburu National Reserve, being separated by the river. It is smaller, less hilly and dense than its neighbour but in no way any less impressive. The bird life is prolific and the Somali Ostrich dominates the plains, an impressive sight as it is much larger than its relative the Masai Ostrich.
After breakfast we will drive you through to Elementeita. Arrive for lunch at Sunbird Lodge. Afternoon at leisure. Elementeita a soda ash lake playing host to tens of thousands of flamingos. Located on the famous Great Rift Valley, this small but beautiful lake offers you the chance to relax or choose from a number of optional activities such as horse riding, bird viewing or a visit to the natural warm spa that flows into the lake.
This morning after breakfast you depart for Lake Nakuru National Park with a stop for lunch at Thompson Falls Lodge. After which you will proceed to Lake Nakuru Lodge with game viewing on route. Lake Nakuru National Park is famous for its flamingo rimmed lake in the centre. The park also offers some of the best opportunity of seeing the very rare rhino as well as the elusive leopard.
This morning, after breakfast you will set off for what is possibly Africa's and the world's most famous game park, the Masai Mara. You will arrive in time for lunch at our home for the next few days, the Keekorok Lodge after which you will take an afternoon game drive. Then return to your lodge in the late afternoon, in time to enjoy a relaxing sun downer.
Get up for an early morning game drive. With the cool temperatures of the morning the animals are at their most active. Watch the sun rise over the African Savannah giving fantastic light for the keen photographer. Return to the camp for a late breakfast. The rest of the morning is at leisure to relax by the rivers edge watching the animals that come to drink or indulge in a massage by the pool. Lunch will be in camp with the late afternoon being set for a game drive. Again as the sun begins to set the animals are once again more active.
Rise early and take a balloon safari across the Masai Mara. Take off in the crisp morning air, only to experience a game-viewing adventure with an entirely different perspective. As you silently float across the plains, forest and rivers for approximately an hour, your journey comes to end back on land but accompanied with a fully cooked champagne breakfast. The day sees more game viewing both in the morning and late afternoon. For the bird lovers there are over 450 species that have been identified in the Masai Mara Ecosystem.
Today we head to back to Nairobi and have lunch before our transfer to the airport for the flight to Zanzibar. On arrival in Zanzibar we will transfer you to the hotel.
This morning you will be met by your driver and driven to Zanzibar Airport for your flight home.
