Day 1: Johannesburg - Kruger N.P.
Leaving Johannesburg, we enter picturesque Mpumalanga and visit Blyde River Canyon and Three Rondavels. Later we visit an animal orphanage to see its success stories, before travelling through a private game reserve to camp on the banks of the Oliphant’s River. Experience your first glimpse of wild Africa tonight, as animals come to the river to drink. Overnight - camping on Olifants River.
Day 2: Kruger N.P.
Rising to the sounds of the bush we join a river cruise along the banks of the Oliphant’s, where hippo wallow and elephant and antelope come to drink. If lucky we may even spot lion. Our next destination is world famous Kruger National Park. This is big game territory and we may see some of the ‘Big Five’. Kruger is home to over 505 species of birds, 148 species of 50 mammals and many reptiles. Overnight - Shingwedzi Rest Camp Bungalow.
Day 3: Kruger N.P.
Early this morning and later this afternoon you head off in open vehicles into the park in search of Africa’s Big Five. Keep those cameras ready! If you would like to get up close and personal with the animals you might want to arrange an optional guided walk with armed rangers. Overnight - Shingwedzi Rest Camp Bungalow.
Day 4: Kruger N.P. - Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park
We complete our Kruger experience with an early morning game drive, before travelling towards the border of Botswana to visit Polokwane Game Reserve. More than 21 species inhabit this scenic reserve which we explore on foot. Overnight - Polokwane Game Reserve.
Day 5: Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park - Serowe
We head on from Polokwane to Serowe and the Khama Rhino Sanctuary. The Khama Rhino Sanctuary Trust is a community based wildlife project, established in 1992 to assist in saving the vanishing rhino, restore an area formerly teeming with wildlife to its previous natural state and provide economic benefits to the local Batswana community through tourism and the sustainable use of natural resources. Day 6: Serowe - Makgadikgadi & Nxai Pan NP
We head through to Makgadikgadi Pan today and on to our lodge. En route we will stop at the Nata Bird Sanctuary. The Nata River delta feeds the Sua Pan in the Nata Sanctuary and forms the breeding ground for a host of water birds including pelicans and flamingo in their thousands, transforming the shore line into a pink haze blending into the western sky. With a little luck you will witness this wonderful spectacle today. Overnight - Planet Baobab Bakalanga Twin Hut.
Day 7: Makgadikgadi & Nxai Pan NP - Maun
We head on to Maun today and check into the lodge. Rest of the day is free. Overnight - Thamalakane River Lodge standard chalet.
Day 8: Maun - Okavango Delta
Time to head into the Okavango Delta, one of the last remaining unspoiled wilderness areas of Africa. The Delta is fed by the floodwaters of Central Africa and covers an area of some 16000 square kilometers. These waters fan out into the Okavango Delta forming a wetland system of beautiful palm-fringed channels, lagoons and islands that support a wealth of fauna and flora alike. You will have 2 game activities today. Overnight - Guma Lagoon Tented Accommodation.
Day 9: Okavango Delta
You will have a full day mokoro cruise today, The traditional dug-out cano) excursion takes you further in to the Okavango Delta. Relax as your poler takes you through the lillies and see if you can spot hippos, water ponies and more. Overnight - Guma Lagoon Tented Accommodation.
Day 10: Okavango Delta - Caprivi Strip
We head into the Caprivi Strip today and stay at the Camp Kwando. You will then set out on a game drive in Mudumo. Dense savannah and Mopane woodland characterise the Mudumo National Park, which stretches across a vast Namibian area of 1010 square kilometres. In contrast to other parts of Namibia the Mudumo National Park is lush and swampy, bordered by the Kwando River to the west. The wildlife includes some rarely seen water antelope; the amphibious sitatunga and the red lechwe. Their hooves have adapted to manage the Mudumo Park’s swampy terrain and the sitatunga is a good swimmer. Overnight - Camp Kwando Tented Chalet.
Day 11: Caprivi Strip - Chobe N. P.
We head to Chobe today and have a morning game drive and also a sunset cruise on the Chobe River. On the boat cruise on the Chobe River you will be able to watch elephants, hippos, lions, crocodiles and a variety of birds and more without having to reach for your binoculars – you’ll be near enough for close-up photographs. Overnight - Chobe Safari Lodge Camping.
Day 12: Chobe N. P. - Livingstone
After a leisurely breakfast we cross the border back into Zimbabwe and drive back to the Livingstone side of Victoria Falls. This afternoon we explore Victoria Falls on a guided tour. Overnight - Zambezi Waterfront Standard Room.
Day 13: Livingstone
A free day to enjoy some of the many optional activities. Victoria Falls is not the highest or the widest waterfall but it is thought to form the largest sheet of falling water in the world. It is double the height of Niagra Falls in the US and only rivalled in width by the beautiful Iguassu Falls in South America. Overnight - Zambezi Waterfront Standard Room.
