Welcome to Victoria Falls. We will collect you from the airport and transfer you to your hotel.
Victoria Falls or Mosi-oa-Tunya (the Smoke that Thunders) is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World and it’s not difficult to see why. At 1700 m wide and around 100 m high, this is the world's largest sheet of falling water and a memorable sight on any African Safari! The Falls can be viewed from the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, Zambia and the Victoria Falls National Park, Zimbabwe. Each offer fantastic photo opportunities. The day is spent participating in a myriad of Optional Excursions. Tonight we enjoy a sunset cruise on the mighty Zambezi.
Today we have another opportunity to participate in some of the activities we couldn’t fit in yesterday. Optional activities include elephant back safaris, horse back safaris and a rhino walk. Adrenalin junkies can bungee from the Victoria Falls Bridge connecting Zimbabwe and Zambia or abseil down the Batoka Gorge - neither activity is for the faint hearted! All year round, flights in fixed wing, micro light and ultra light aircraft or helicopters provide an aerial perspective over this magnificent World Heritage Site. White water rafting on the Zambezi is world class.
We will transfer you to Chobe National Park and get you checked into the lodge.
We have a morning game drive and in the afternoon we have a sunset cruise on the Chobe River. Here we can watch elephants, hippos, lions, crocodiles and a variety of birds and more without having to even reach for our binoculars!
Today we travel to the Okavango Delta (flight from Kasane to the Delta). The Okavango Delta is a huge expanse of water that has travelled from the Kavango River from the Angolan highlands, and fans out onto the upper Kalahari region to form the largest inland Delta in the World.
You will have a mokoro trip on the delta today, gliding along the waterways spotting wildlife.
Today we will head to the Khwai River (flight from Nguma Island to Maun, then we will drive you to the Khawi Bedouin Camp). Enjoy an early morning game drive and sunset game drive, spotting a variety of game that frequent this region that borders Moremi and Chobe. Khwai is renowned for its large concentrations of mammals and it is not unusual to see many types of wildlife during just one game drive, including elephant, buffalo, cheetah, lion, leopard and wild dog. Birdlife can also be viewed in abundance with exceptional sightings of wildfowl and raptors.
You will have a full day of game drives today. Surrounding the Khwai River, wildlife and birdlife are in abundance. This area is a regular host to a wide variety of animals which include: elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, serval, cheetah and the wild dog. The wild dog particularly, is a regular feature, and has been the subject of a project being run in the area since 1989. The waters of the river are also frequented by hippos – often seen during the day and heard at night.
