Day 1:

Welcome to Africa and the start of your holiday! Upon arrival in Nairobi you will be transferred to Sweetwaters Camp in time for lunch. This afternoon take a game drive in the sanctuary and tonight enjoy dinner back at Sweetwaters Camp.

Day 2: - Samburu N.R.

After a traditional breakfast you depart in the morning and drive north to Samburu National Reserve. Samburu is rugged and remote, with a backdrop of jagged mountains, sun parched hills and arid plains. The Ewaso Ngiro River which runs through it, is home to a huge population of crocodiles and attracts plenty of wildlife to its banks, including buffalos, giraffe and the rare Grevy's zebra. You arrive in time to enjoy lunch at Samburu Intrepids Camp followed by an afternoon game drive in the park. Dinner is included tonight.

Day 3: Samburu N.R.

This morning after breakfast we start the day perfectly with a game drive in Samburu National Reserve. Enjoy lunch before heading out for an afternoon game drive. All three big cats, lion, cheetah and leopard can be found here and easily spotted due to the lack of grass cover. Samburu is a real treat for wildlife enthusiasts and less crowded than other reserves.

Day 4: Samburu N.R. - Lake Nakuru

This morning after breakfast we depart for Lake Nakuru National Park. Lake Nakuru is a shallow soda lake, renowed for its huge concentration of flamingos and over 460 species of birds. The alkaline lake's abundance of algae attracts the large flock of flamingos, estimated in their millions, that famously line the shore. Enjoy lunch at Lake Nakuru Lodge before heading out for an afternoon game drive in the park. At days end enjoy dinner at the lodge.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru - Masai Mara N.P.

After breakfast you depart for the Masai Mara National Reserve. For your two-night Mara stay, the stunning and intimate Karen Blixen Camp shall accommodate you. This camp offers an authentic ‘yesteryear’ experience for visitors wishing to gain that little extra from their safari, where one can obtain a sense of the exciting explorer days. Arrive for lunch at the Lodge before an afternoon game drive. This evening experience a dinner with breathtaking views over the river, where the dramatic escarpment provides the perfect backdrop.

Day 6: Masai Mara N.P.

The Masai Mara with its rolling grasslands, meandering rivers and towering escarpments provide an endless amount of game viewing. Home to a wide variety of animals, the Mara is also famous for its Big Five. After you morning game drive, we drive back to the lodge for a late lunch, only to return again to the reserve’s open plains late afternoon for another game drive. This evening enjoy dinner at the Karen Blixen Camp where meals are made from the finest fresh ingredients prepared by experienced chefs.

Day 7: Masai Mara N.P. - Lake Victoria

Departing after breakfast (with a packed lunch) we leave the incredible scenic land of the Masai Mara behind as you continue your journey into Kenya’s equally charming neighbour, Tanzania. At the Sirare border you meet your Tanzanian driver and vehicle and drive to Lake Victoria, Africa's largest lake, where you can enjoy your picnic lunch. You will arrive at Lukuba Island Lodge in the afternoon. Relax on the verandah with Lake Victoria right there at your feet. This evening enjoy dinner at the Lodge.

Day 8: Lake Victoria

Today enjoy a full day at Lake Victoria, you can go for a leisurely boat ride around the island, or venture off on a hike, or try fishing with a traditional bamboo fly-rod, or even just sit in one of the canvas beach chairs and listen as the morning waves gently brush the shoreline. Lukuba Lodge exists in harmony with its environment. From Sunset rock, its highest point, you can watch the sun set over the great African lake, the afternoon's languid pace catching the rhythms of the island. The Lodge is the perfect place to relax after a few days of safari.

Day 9: Lake Victoria - Serengeti N.P.

After breakfast you will depart (with a picnic lunch box) Lake Victoria and drive to the Serengeti National Park. Keep an eye out for game en route to your camp. UNESCO-listed Serengeti is the largest and most popular of Tanzania's national parks. Sprawled across 14,763 km2 of vast sun burnt savannahs, dotted with acacia trees, the Serengeti offers arguably the most scintillating game-viewing in Africa.

Day 10: Serengeti N.P.

After breakfast you will depart (with a picnic lunch box) for a full day of game drives in Serengeti National Park. Between the Serengeti and the Masai Mara, a million or more wildebeest and hundreds of thousands of zebra and gazelle complete their great circulatory migration in search of green pasture. Where there is such a large mobile meat supply there are predators and the Serengeti is renowed for its impressive lion sightings, with leopards, cheetahs, jackals and hyenas never far away.

Day 11: Serengeti N.P. - Ngorongoro Crater

Today, Ngorongoro Crater awaits. The Crater is a vast and unbroken crater ring (approximately 20 kms wide!) which was formed approximately 2.5 million years ago and thanks to a permanent water and pasture source, the crater floor now plays host to nearly every species of African animal. After breakfast we depart the Serengeti and drive to Ngorongoro via Olduvai Gorge. You then continue on to Ngorongoro Farm House Lodge and enjoy dinner at the Lodge.

Day 12: Ngorongoro Crater

Today we visit the Ngorongoro Crater for a full day of game drives. This incredible formation is part of the larger Ngorongoro Conservation Area, which covers more than 8300 square kilometres. Reaching the crater floor, you will undoubtedly be amazed at this natural phenomenon before you. The Ngorongoro Crater is home to about 25,000 animals and is one of the last places in Tanzania where the Big Five can be seen. Enjoy a picnic on the edge of one of the crater’s lakes as you watch elephants quench their thirst from afar. Return to the lodge to relax and enjoy a well-earned feast.

Day 13: Ngorongoro Crater

Today we bid you farewell. After breakfast you will drive back to Arusha with a picnic lunch and proceed to Kilimanjaro airport for your flight to Nairobi (14:00/14:50).
