This area is a regular host to a wide variety of animals which include: elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, serval, cheetah and the wild dog. The wild dog particularly, is a regular feature, and has been the subject of a project being run in the area since 1989. The waters of the river are also frequented by hippos – often seen during the day and heard at night.
We will transfer you by light plane to Kasane Airport, followed by a road transfer to Kubu Lodge. Kubu Lodge is a small, privately owned lodge on the banks of the Chobe River.
Today you will have a full day of game driving. Chobe is known for its elephant population, with some 120,000 elephants based in the park. They tend to be particularly large but their ivory is brittle, so will only have short tusks. After breakfast we will drive you to Victoria Falls (approximately a 2 hour drive). Zimbabwe is home to arguably the world’s most beautiful precipice, UNESCO-listed Victoria Falls. Victoria Falls, described by the Kololo tribe living in the area in the 1800’s as ‘Mosi-oa-Tunya’ - ‘the smoke that thunders’, is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.
Depending on your departure time, you will be taken to Victoria Falls Airport for your onward flight.
