Welcome to Africa! We will be there to meet you at Cape Town airport, and transfer you to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.
We commence with a cable car trip up the legendary Table Mountain for spectacular views of the Mother City and the surrounding peninsula. (weather permitting; cable car fee not included). Back in the city itself, we visit the well preserved Company Gardens, the S.A. Museum, the Castle of Good Hope and the vibrant and arty flea market, Greenmarket Square. We also take a trip through the colourful and picturesque Malay Quarter known as Bo-Kaap.
This is an awe-inspiring tour to the towering headland known as Cape Point. Magnificent beaches, breathtaking views, historic and picturesque coastal villages are to be seen along the way. The Cape Peninsula is one of the world’s most scenic areas and stretches from the City centre to Cape Point.
Today we head off on the Walk to Freedom excursion, which details the some of the history of the apartheid and post apartheid eras, Robben Island.
Early this morning we depart Cape Town for Oudtshoorn and spend an exciting afternoon at the Cango Caves before retiring to our accommodation. The Cango Caves are a series of caves, made up of a succession of underground holes and enclosures, which can be explored on a guided tour (bookable locally).
Today we drive over the stunning Outeniqua pass down to the coast. We pass through the small coastal towns of George, Wilderness, Sedgefield and Knysna. Our destination for the day is Plettenberg Bay, the jewel of the Garden Route, with its sweeping unspoiled golden beaches and dramatic rocky peninsular.
Today we take a day trip to the Tsitsikamma National Park, a beautiful 80km long coastal strip between Nature’s Valley and the mouth of Storms River. For those that are feeling adventurous there is the opportunity to conquer the highest bungee jump in the world at Bloukrans (optional, book locally). We spend the day hiking to the suspension bridge at Storms River mouth.
A leisurely departure takes us from Plettenberg Bay to a private game reserve near Mossel Bay, arriving early afternoon. Set against the beautiful backdrop of the Langeberg Mountain Range, we go on an afternoon game drive to spot some of the wildlife that Botlierskop Game Reserve has to offer. After the game drive we head to our lodge
This morning we leave the lodge and follow the coastal route towards Hermanus. Known as the heart of the whale coast, this coastal resort offers the best land based whale watching in the world. We explore Hermanus including land-based whale watching (in season - July - December) and visit a winery for some wine tasting. There is also time for an optional extra of Shark Cage Diving for anyone who feels brave enough! From Hermanus we drive to Betty’s Bay where we visit the penguins at Stony Point. Our Garden Route adventure ends in Cape town this afternoon.
We will transfer you to the train station to board the Blue Train to Pretoria. The Blue Train includes all meals, high tea, drinks and excursions off the train.
We will pick you up from the train station and transfer you to the hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure.
Today, we transfer you down to Kruger National Park (approx 5.5 hrs). It’s said that Kruger has the greatest variety of wildlife in Africa. Lion, elephant, leopard, cheetah, giraffe are present as are a profusion of herbivores. Established in 1898 to protect the wildlife of the South African Lowveld, this national park of nearly 2 million hectares, is unrivalled in the diversity of its life forms and a world leader in advanced environmental management techniques and policies. It’s here that one can (hopefully!) view the Big Five in abundance. Get your cameras ready!
Early this morning and later this afternoon you head off in open vehicles into the park in search of Africa’s Big Five. Keep those cameras ready! If you would like to get up close and personal with the animals you might want to arrange an optional guided walk with armed rangers.
We will transfer you to the airport for the flight to Victoria Falls. (own flight, leaves at 11:00 and arrives at 12:45). On arrival we will transfer you to the hotel.
Zimbabwe is home to arguably the world’s most beautiful precipice, UNESCO-listed Victoria Falls. Victoria Falls, described by the Kololo tribe living in the area in the 1800’s as ‘Mosi-oa-Tunya’ - ‘the smoke that thunders’, is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. You have a tour of the Falls Inc entry fees and also a 12-13 Minute Helicopter Scenic Flight exc park fees

The morning is spent at leisure. This afternoon you enjoy a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River.
We will transfer you to the airport today for the flight to Johannesburg (own flight, leaves at 13:15 and arrives at 15:00). On arrival we will transfer yuo to the hotel.
