Welcome to Namibia! On arrival at Hosea Kutako International Airport in Namibia’s capital, Windhoek, you will be met and transferred to your accommodation. Your guide will meet you at the lodge and we then embark on a short orientation tour of Windhoek. The evening is spent at leisure.
Today we travel to Namibia’s highlight of the north – Etosha National Park. Upon arrival start our first game drive of the trip. The remainder of the day is at leisure.
Today we head north to Outjo in the Kunene Region. Set between low hills on the brink of the Ugab valley, Outjo is the gateway to Etosha National Park. This afternoon there is time to take a self guided walk on the lodges hiking trail.
Today we spend as much time as possible driving through the ‘Great White Place’ (translation for Etosha) trying to get closer to some of the Big Five. Our accommodation also offers fabulous floodlit waterholes, which provide excellent game viewing at night.
This morning bid farewell to the wild animals of Etosha and head to Kamanjab where we visit a local Himba village to find out more about their traditions and lifestyle. In the afternoon we continue on to the Brandberg, the highest mountain in Namibia where we visit the “White Lady”, one of the most famous rock paintings in the area.
Today we travel to Swakopmund. You can choose to take part in a few of the many optional activities that are offered in Swakopmund such as quad biking, sand boarding or sky diving in the afternoon. Alternatively you could enjoy the little German coastal town and explore its beauty, beaches and charm.
An early morning start takes us from Swakopmund south through Walvis Bay on our way to the Namib Naukluft National Park. Later this evening we embark on a wild cat walk at the lodge.
Departing early today, visit the world’s highest sand dunes at Sossusvlei and Deadvlei. At sunrise and sunset these dunes, which can reach heights of over 300 m, are absolutely spectacular and provide for a fantastic photo opportunity. We also stop to view the Sesriem Canyon, which was carved millions of years ago by the Tsauchab River.
We leave the desert behind us and travel back to Windhoek through the beautiful countryside making short stops en-route. Once we arrive the rest of the afternoon can be spent at leisure or enjoy dinner at one of the many fabulous restaurants in the city (at own expense).
After breakfast this morning you will be transferred to Hosea Kutako International Airport in Windhoek, in time for your onward flight to Maun. Departing Windhoek at 08:15 and arriving at 10:30. On arrival into Maun you will be met by our representative and transferred to the hotel in Thamalakane.
After breakfast transfer to the jetty in the Moremi Game Reserve for a full day excursion by motorboat in to the Okavango Delta, including a game walk, before returning to Moremi for overnight.
Today take a Mokoro (traditional dug-out canoe) excursion further in to the Okavango Delta. Relax as your poler takes you through the lillies and see if you can spot hippos, water ponies and more.
A full day of game-viewing in the Moremi Game Reserve with morning and afternoon game drives are the plans for today. Moremi Game Reserve forms an intricate part of the Okavango Delta and is a prime wildlife area where elephants, buffalo, lion, leopard and most other game can be seen in abundance. With its unprecedented abundance of wildlife it is no wonder Moremi is considered one of the most beautiful reserves in all of Africa.
Wake up with the birds to experience the thrill of an African sunrise. Enjoy an early morning game-drive in Moremi Game Reserve before we then set off for the Chobe National Park. Rest and relax at your lodge before this afternoon’s game-drive.
Today you will get to truly experience what Chobe National Park has to offer. Enjoy a morning and afternoon game drive taking in the spectacle of some of Chobe's most famed residents - its elephants. This evening we board our boat for a relaxing sunset cruise, enjoying the sights of elephants, hippos, crocodiles and a wide variety of water and land birds.
Departing the Chobe National Park we take you across the Botswana border and into Tanzania and continue to the airport in Victoria Falls in time for your onward departure flight. Today marks the end of services with On the Go Tours.
