Day 1: Nairobi - Samburu N.R.

We will transfer you to the airport in time for the flight to Samburu and on arrival we will transfer you to the Intrepids lodge. You will have a morning and afternoon game drive today. Large herds of elephants, plentiful big cats, reticulated giraffes, buffalo and gerenuks also form part of the reserve’s large and diverse wildlife population. Ewaso Nyiro River is the main attraction for wildlife, but many animals are also found in the various habitats such as acacia, river forest, thorn trees and grasslands.

Day 2: Samburu N.R.

Sleep in or rise early, but we recommend getting out into bush first thing to experience prime wildlife activity. As you continue with your game drive through this scenically and wildlife dramatic reserve, watch out for the unique Grevy’s zebra or Beisa Oryx, both species only found north of the equator. As the day cools, you shall return to the reserve for one last game drive and to take sundowners at a beautiful location.

Day 3: Samburu N.R.

You will have a morning and afternoon game drive today. Day 4: Samburu N.R. - Masai Mara N.P.

We will transfer you to the airport for the morning flight to the Masai Mara (depart 09:30, arrive 11:00). On arrival we will transfer you to the lodge. The Mara is technically an extension of Tanzania’s renowned Serengeti National Park, but it’s rolling grasslands, meandering rivers and towering escarpments equals to an endless amount of game viewing. Home to a wide variety of animals, the Mara is also famous for its Big Five. Depending on the game drive, we’ll proceed back to the lodge for a late lunch, only to return again in search of more wildlife action late afternoon. Overnight - Mara Intrepids Lodge.

Day 5: Masai Mara N.P.

Get up for an early morning game drive. With the cool temperatures of the morning the animals are at their most active. Watch the sun rise over the African Savannah giving fantastic light for the keen photographer. Return to the camp for a late breakfast. The rest of the morning is at leisure to relax by the rivers edge watching the animals that come to drink or indulge in a massage by the pool. Lunch will be in camp with the late afternoon being set for a game drive. Again as the sun begins to set the animals are once again more active. Overnight - Mara Intrepids Lodge.

Day 6: Masai Mara N.P.

Full day game drive. Today you will set off on a full day’s game drive taking a picnic lunch. You will have more time to explore a larger area of the Masai Mara, with its various landscapes, from savannahs, forests, dry river beds and rocky kopjes, all of which offering a better environment for a whole range of animals. Your picnic lunch will be enjoyed in a scheduled spot in the reserve among the wildlife. Overnight - Mara Intrepids Lodge.
