Hutongs are a special feature of Beijing. This series of a network of alleys and traditional courtyards containing compound houses. Some are located in the Beihai Park area north of the Forbidden City and also between Wangfujing and Dongdan. On a peddle powered rickshaw and accompanied by a local guide, you’ll gain a fascinating snapshot of the city’s traditional way of life, as you meander through Beijing’s old back lanes.
