Day 1: San Jose

Upon arrival into San Jose international airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel in San Jose. The rest of the day is at leisure so you can either head into the city and start exploring or relax at the hotel.

Day 2: San Jose

Today we head to Poas Volcano National Park. Considered by most to be one of the most breathtaking sites in the entire country, Poas remains one of Costa Rica's largest and most active volcanoes. This fact alone is enough to attract thousands of visitors per year. After touring in Poas, return to San Jose for a city tour. The tour begins with an orientation drive through the beautiful Sabana Park. Next, take a walking tour through the historic National Theatre. Completed in 1897, the theatre is a masterpiece in art and architecture. Afterwards visit one of the many unique museums of Costa Rica. After your city tour in San Jose, return to your hotel.

Day 3: San Jose - San Ramon

After breakfast you'll be transferred to San Ramon - one of the larger Central Valley coffee towns. This location is set in a picturesque valley enclosed by lush and fertile mountains. This warm and beautiful town is growing and evolving into an extremely special place. The location and year round climate in San Ramon are what we consider to be the best in Costa Rica, and one of the best in the world.

Day 4: San Ramon

Today you are free to do as you like in San Ramon. The Alberto Manuel Brenes Biological reserve is close by and provides hiking and birding for outdoor buffs, as well as several volcanoes scattered along the Central Volcanic Mountain Range which even have majestic waterfalls hidden in the dense forest. Other options include canopy tours, horse riding, spa days or visiting the neighbouring towns of Grecia, Sarchi, Zarcero and Naranjo.

Day 5: San Ramon - La Fortuna

Today you head to one of Costa Rica's most iconic sites - the Arenal Volcano. Visit the Arenal volcano National Park, Costa Rica’s best-known volcano. It’s a stratovolcano – a large, symmetrical volcano that’s built upon layers of ash, rock and lava – and at 5,437 feet, it stands high above the rest of the countryside. After nearly 400 of years of inactivity, Arenal began erupting in 1968, when it exploded and buried over 5 mi² (15 km²) in rocks, lava and ash. That eruptive cycle took pause in 2010 when the volcano entered into an indefinite resting phrase.

Day 6: La Fortuna

Today is at leisure in the Cano Negro Refuge, where you can enjoy a full day of nature and flora and fauna observation.

Days 7-9: La Fortuna - Manuel Antonio

The next three days are spent in Manuel Antonio National Park. Manuel Antonio National Park is one of the most popular parks in the country; blessed with beautiful lagoons, palm fringed beaches and a plethora of animals including sloths, pelicans, white-faced monkeys, anteaters and huge iguanas. Enjoy time at leisure exploring the park and relaxing on the beach.

Days 10-12: Manuel Antonio - Corcovado National Park

Departing Manuel Antonio today you'll take a short flight from Quepos or Puerto Jiminez - the gateway to Corcovado National Park. It encompasses the only remaining old growth wet forests on the Pacific coast of Central America, and 13 major ecosystems including lowland rain forest, highland cloud forest and mangrove swamps, as well as coastal marine and beach habitats. There is a good chance of spotting some of Costa Rica's shyest and most endangered inhabitants here; Baird's Tapirs, Jaguars, Scarlet Macaws, Harpy Eagles, Red-backed squirrel monkeys and White-lipped Peccaries.

Day 13: Corcovado National Park - San Jose

We will transfer you to Puerto Jiminez to take an internal flight back to San Jose. You will have the afternoon free to further explore San Jose.

Day 14: San Jose

Your Costa Rican adventure comes to an end today when we transfer you to the international airport.
