Day 1: San Jose

Upon arrival into San Jose airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure for you to relax at the hotel with it's extensive facilities or to head off into San Jose and begin exploring.

Day 2: San Jose - La Fortuna

After breakfast you take a shuttle to Arenal - one of Costa Rica's most iconic and famous sites. Positioned within Costa Rica's fertile northern lowlands, the Arenal volcano is an unavoidable presence while travelling within this part of the country. Arenal's perfectly symmetrical shape makes it a sightseer's dream, while its abundance of outdoor activities makes it an easy place to check things off your 'must do in Costa Rica' list. There are a number of leisure activities to do here including a hike along the base of Arenal Volcano, kayaking on beautiful Lake Arenal, horse riding, canyoning or a boat tour of Cano Negro wildlife reserve.

Day 3: La Fortuna

Today hike to the iconic volcano for fantastic views of the surrounding landscapes. In the afternoon visit the local hot springs for a relaxing soak.

Day 4: La Fortuna - Monteverde

After breakfast you depart for Monteverde crossing Lake Arenal by boat and continuing by Jeep. Once at the hotel the afternoon is free to explore or partake in one of the many optional activities on offer, such as a tree top Canopy Tour, horse riding or a tour of the coffee plantations. Later in the evening enjoy a guided night walk for an introduction to the region's nocturnal resident wildlife.

Day 5: Monteverde

Today enjoy a hike through the scenic Monteverde Reserve with its incredible biodiversity. Wind-sculpted elfin woodlands give way to rainforests where tall trees - festooned with orchids, ferns and vines rise into the sky.

Day 6: Monteverde - Manuel Antonio

A shuttle transfer today takes you to Manuel Antonio. Despite being one of Costa Rica's smallest national parks, Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio is one of the country's most popular and it's not difficult to understand why. Idyllic tropical beaches are backed by lush rainforest with pristine waters stretching out to paradise in the form of untouched outer islands. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 7: Manuel Antonio

After breakfast enjoy a guided hiking tour for a glimpse at the park's abundance of exotic wildlife. Remainder of day at leisure for you to enjoy the many activities on offer in the Manuel Antonio National Park.

Day 8: Manuel Antonio - San Jose

Return to San Jose today by shared transfer, where the remains of the day are free to explore the capital.

Day 9: San Jose

Today marks the end of your Central American adventure with On the Go Tours. After breakfast and hotel check out we will transfer you to the airport in time for your onward departure flight.
