Day 1: San Jose

Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival in San Jose transfer to your hotel. Spend the remains of the day at leisure in Costa Rica's cosmopolitan capital city, which is nestled in a fertile valley among coffee and sugar-cane farms.

Day 2: San Jose - La Fortuna

First stop on our Costa Rican adventure is the sleepy rural town of La Fortuna, which is located in the shadow of the active Arenal Volcano. This volcano has been constantly erupting since 1968. After settling into our hotel you'll have time for a leisurely lunch and to explore the town. In the evening relax at the luxurious hot springs of Tabacon Resort and Spa.

Day 3: La Fortuna

Spend today at leisure or partake in a variety of exciting optional excursions - take part in some local wildlife spotting or visit beautiful waterfalls.

Day 4: La Fortuna - Monteverde

Today we travel to the beautiful town of Monteverde, enjoying the picturesque views en route. Monteverde is our base for exploring and visiting the beautiful Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve with its unique canopy of cloud. The reserve is a nature lover's paradise and an excellent place for bird watching. We go in search of the endangered Quetzal, a bird with incredibly beautiful and unique plumage, and visit the Hummingbird Gallery where these energetic birds buzz around sipping on nectar.

Day 5: Monteverde

There are lots of optional activities on offer in and around Monteverde and Santa Elena to keep you entertained, from famous sky walks on suspension bridges above the forest canopy to bird watching and twilight walks.

Day 6: Monteverde - Manuel Antonio

Leaving the lofty heights of Monteverde behind we travel south through lush green countryside to Manuel Antonio, which is famous for its stunning beaches and rainforest. We will visit Manuel Antonio National Park, one of the most popular parks in the country and blessed with beautiful lagoons, palm fringed beaches and a plethora of animals including sloths, pelicans, white-faced monkeys, anteaters and huge iguanas. Enjoy time at leisure exploring the park and relaxing on the beach.

Day 7: Manuel Antonio

Day 8: Manuel Antonio - San Jose

After a leisurely morning we travel back to San Jose for our final night in the capital.

Day 9: San Jose

Today marks the end of your adventure with On the Go Tours. After breakfast and hotel check out we'll transfer you to the airport in time for your onward departure flight.
