Welcome to China and the start of your holiday! Enjoy an arrival transfer to our hotel, where you sit back and relax after your long flight.
Today we drive out of the city to Badaling, where we can walk a section of the Great Wall. Some sections are fairly steep, but the walk on the vast wall is one of those ‘must do’ experiences! We visit the tombs of the Ming emperors. We also visit the stunning summer palace.
This morning, we explore the vast Tiananmen Square where Chairman Mao’s tomb and various monuments to the people are located. Dominating the city’s heart is the Forbidden City, a centre of power for five centuries. Entering through the Gate of Heavenly Peace, we enjoy a guided walk of this old city. Tonight, we take the overnight train to Xi'an.
We will meet you at the train station and transfer you to the hotel. Today's highlights will be a visit to Huaqing Hot Springs, a scenic spot in the shadow of Li Mountain. Before visiting the Terracotta Warrior site, we visit a workshop where we see the process used to create the terracotta figurines.
Today, we visit Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the Muslim Quarter. Encircling the old city is Xi’an’s medieval City Wall, where we have the option to enjoy a hired bike ride. Enjoy the remsinder of today in your own time to explore the beautiful city.
We will transfer you to the airport for the flight to Chengdu, where you will be met and transferred to the hotel. Rest of the day free.
After breakfast you will venture to the Panda Centre. The Chengdu Panda Breeding Research Centre imitates the pandas' natural habitat in order that they might have the best possible environment for rearing and breeding. It's a full day excursion where you will also get to see other endangered species and the famous giant Buddha sculpture.
Today we drive out to Mt Emai, here you will enjoy spectacular views from this sacred mountain to the Buddhists you will visit the Baoguo Temple and the Wannian Temple here before returning to Chengdu for the night.
We will transfer you to the train station for the train to Chongqing, where you will be met and taken on a city tour. After dinner we will take you to your cruise boat.
Good morning from the River Yangtze! At 6340km in length, the Yangtze is the 3rd longest river in the world, neatly dividing China into north and south, and wending its way through eight very different provinces. Enjoy spectacular vistas passing through all of the famous Gorges Qutangxia Gorge, Wuxia Gorge, Xiling Gorge on your way to Yichang.
Today marks the end of your cruise, upon arrival in to Wuhan we take you straight through to the airport in Yichang for your flight to Shanghai. Arriving there, we will meet you and transfer you to your hotel where you can unwind.
Today starts off after breakfast for a full days excursion, highlights will be a visit to the Bund The Bund, also called the Zhongshan Road, is a famous waterfront and regarded as the symbol of Shanghai for hundreds of years. Onward to see the Jade Buddha Temple, the famous Yu Gardens and a trip to the Bazaar.
Travelling west, we journey to Suzhou in Jiangsu Province. One of China’s most charming cities, it’s fame rests on it’s waterways, and canals that are dotted with traditional bridges, houses and gardens. A cruise on the Grand Canal exposes Suzhou’s beauty. Renown for it’s silk, we also visit a silk workshop before returning to Shanghai.
Today we will transfer you to the airport for the flight to Hong Kong, where our guide will meet you and take you on a half day sightseeing tour, taking in the harbour, city and Aberdeen fishing village.
