Day 1: Shanghai

Welcome to China and the start of your holiday! Enjoy an arrival transfer to our hotel.

Day 2: Shanghai - Yangtze & Three Gorges

Breakfast at hotel. Today we start 9D/8N Yangtze river cruise. Sail from Shangai, China's dynamic international commercial centre. Overnight - Yangtze river cruise.

Day 3: Yangtze & Three Gorges

Visit Nanjing, whereyou will tour the Sun Yat-sen Memorial and a QingDanasty style bazaar surrounding a Confucian Temple. Overnight - Yangtze river cruise.

Full day excursion to Huangshan, one of China's most famous mountain ranges. Travel to this royal retreat through some of the country's most scenic rural areas. (Jiuhua shan or 'Mountain of the Nine Lotuses" may be substituted if weather or road conditions do not permit to visit Huanshan). Overnight - Yangtze river cruise.

Day 5: Yangtze & Three Gorges

Evening excursion of Wuhan, capital of Hubei Province. Visit the Hubei Provincial Museum. ( A walkling tour may be substituted for the museum visit if the museum is not open at the time the ship arrives. Overnight - Yangtze river cruise.

Day 6: Yangtze & Three Gorges

Sailing on the Yangtze River. Overnight - Yangtze river cruise.

Day 7: Yangtze & Three Gorges

Yichang/Xiling Gorge / Three Gorges Dam Site/ Ship Locks. This morning sail through Gezhou Dam near Yichang. In the afternoon visit the Ghree Gorges Dam Site. Sil through Xiling Gorge, the longest(41miles), and the deepest of the Three Gorges. Later today enter the Ghree Gorges Dam ship locks. Overnight - Yangtze river cruise.

Day 8: Yangtze & Three Gorges

Wu Gorge / Qutang Gorge / Daning River"Small Gorges". Enter Wu Gorge, known for its quiet beauty and forest-covered mountains. Then sail through Qutang Gorge, the shortest (5miles), and most dramatic gorge. Take an excursion through the Daning River Small Gorges, which are narrower than the Three Gorges, but very impressive. Overnight - Yangtze river cruise.

Day 9: Yangtze & Three Gorges

Fengdu. Morning shore excursion to Fengdu, the "Ghost City", known for its gardens, temples and statues of ghosts and devils. Overnight - Yangtze river cruise.

Day 10: Yangtze & Three Gorges - Chengdu

Arriving in Chongqing 8am. Disembark at picturesque Chongqing, the "Mountain City". Train to Chengdu. Met by guide and visit the Panda Centre. The Panda Reserve is located only 18km from the city centre. It is not guaranteed that you will be able to see the feeding of the younger pandas, as this only happens at the very start and end of each day. 1.5h sightseeing on foot. Overnight at Mianyang Prince Hotel or similar.

Day 11: Chengdu - Jiuzhaigou

8 hours drive (337km) to the Nine Villages Valley and check into hotel at the entrance of the National Park. Overnight at Jiuzhai Gesang Hotel or similar.

Day 12: Jiuzhaigou

Free day at leisure. Overnight at Jiuzhai Gesang Hotel or similar.

Day 13: Jiuzhaigou

Nine Villages Valley / Mao County Drive along the steep, mountainous ridge of the overnight stay. Overnight at Maoxian International Hotel or similar.

Day 14: - Chengdu

Mao County / Chengdu Drive back to Chengdu (approx.4hours/178km) and transfer to hotel. Overnight at Chengdu Holiday Inn Express Wuhou or similar.

Day 15: Chengdu - Guilin

Transfer to the airport and fly to Guilin. Met by guide and transfer to hotel. Visit to Reed Flute Caves, Elephant Trunk hill. Overnight at Guilin Plaza Hotel or similar.

Day 16: Guilin - Yangshuo

Li River Cruise. Today we will be on Li River cruise starting from Guilin down to Yangshuo. (approx 7-8hours, over 8km) Overnight at Yangshuo Tangrenjie Hotel or similar.
