Day 1: Shanghai

Welcome to Shanghai! You'll meet a guide and we visit the TV tower, Yuyuan Garden, Jade Buddha Temple, Bund, Cruise on Huangpu river. Overnight at Paradise hotel or similar.

Day 2: Shanghai

Today we go to a side trip to Suzhou by express train. We visit the Grand Canal, Silk Factory, Humble Administrator's Garden. Back to Shanghai. Overnight at Paradise hotel or similar.

Day 3: Shanghai - Yangtze & Three Gorges

We fly to Yichang. Met by guide and boarding the cruise for Yangtze River Cruise. Overnight on board.

Day 6: Yangtze & Three Gorges - Chongqing

Yangtze River Cruise.

Day 7: Chongqing - Xi'an

Disembarking from our cruise in Chongqing. You'll meet a guide and transfer to the airport for the flight to Xian. Transfer to hotel. Overnight at Wannian hotel or similar.

Xi’an is Shaanxi Province is perhaps most famous for Emperor Qin’s Terracotta Warriors. Discovered in 1974 by local farmers digging a well, the 7,000 life-sized soldiers, some 2,200 years old, stand battle-ready in excavated pits under the cover of a modern protective hanger. We tour the archaeological site and Terracotta warrior replica workshop. Overnight at Wannian hotel or similar.

Day 9: Xi'an - Beijing

Today we visit the City wall, Big Wild Goose Pagoda and Muslim Market. Transfer to the rail way station and overnight train to Beijing.

Day 10: Beijing

Arrive in Beijing and transfer to hotel. Today we visit the Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Hutong Area (rickshaw). Overnight at Rainbow hotel or similar.

Day 11: Beijing

Today, drive to Badaling, where we can walk on a section of the famous Great Wall. A symbol of total Chinese genius, the Great Wall is a cultural icon. At least 20 dynasties were involved in its construction. We also visit the Summer Palace where we view the lavishly decorated temples, halls and courts, reconstructed in 1902. The Long Corridor, a hand painted 730m covered walkway, offers gentle respite from the elements. Overnight at Rainbow hotel or similar.

Day 12: Beijing

Today we visit the Temple of Heaven where we can enjoy some time perhaps kite flying and continue onto Summer Palace, set on Kunming Lake, to view the lavishly decorated temples, halls and courts, reconstructed in 1902. At Silk Alley, there’s a chance to indulge in a little retail therapy. Overnight at Rainbow hotel or similar.
