Day 1: Beijing

Hello China! Arrive Beijing and included airport transfer to our hotel.

Day 2: Beijing

Today you take a journey outside of the city to the most famous wall in the world - the Great Wall of China. Take a walk or maybe even a climb on the Juyannguan section, which is a lesser visited part of the wall - a much more fulfilling and intimate experience of the wall! Later, this afternoon back in Beijing enjoy a visit to the Summer Palace.

Day 3: Beijing

Free day and at your leisure.

Forbidden City

Day 4: Beijing

Today you will set out to sightsee the nation's capital, starting with Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. Tiananmen Square - home to the Monument of the People's Heroes and many important events in Chinese history - most notably the 1989 Student Protests. The Forbidden City - so called as it was only visited by people on Imperial business up until 1911 - is a vision in grandeur with yellow roofs, vermilion walls and the innermost sanctum of Beijing. This afternoon you will walk through the city's many temples, grand halls and courtyards before visiting the Temple of Heaven. Later today we will transfer you to the railway station for the overnight sleeper train to Datong.

Day 5: Beijing - Datong

You arrive into Datong early giving you a whole day to explore the area. Take a guided sightseeing walk around the Yungang Grottoes (some of the first and grandest of Buddhist grottoes containing intricately carved buddhas of all shapes and sizes), Huayan Temple, Nine Dragon Wall and Shanua Temple. The Nine Dragon Wall is a 600-year-old Nine-Dragon Screen made up of glazed tiles, the 50-m ceramic wall depicts a fire breathing dragon. Overnight Datong.

Day 6: Datong

Today you head over to the Hanging Temple and the Wood Pagoda for more sightseeing. The Hanging Temple is a sight to behold and is a structure that seriously defies gravity. Constructed on an impossibly precipitous rock face, it literally hugs the cliff. Transfer to the railway station for the overnight sleeper train to Xian. Train 2671, departs at 1640 and arrives the next morning at 0856.

Day 7: Datong - Xi'an

Arrive Xian at 0856 and you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Later today enjoy a visit to the Wild Goose Pagoda, Grand Mosque and Muslim quarter as well as a visit to the bell and drum tower. This evening have a delicious local dinner. The rest of evening is at leisure. Overnight Skytel Hotel.

Day 8: Xi'an - Guilin

Early morning, visit the archaeological site of the Terracotta Warriors, Huanqing Hot Springs, a scenic spot in the shadow of Li Mountain we also explore the Hanyangling Tomb. Then off to the airport for your flight to Guilin. Arriving here, we transfer you to your hotel.

Day 9: Guilin

This morning we pay a visit to The Reed Flute Cave Within the cave there are enchanting stalagmites, stone pillars, stele, stone curtains and stone flowers. Then we continue on to Elephant Trunk Hill Located at the confluence of the Taohua (Peach Blossom) River and the Li River. The afternoon is free for you to explore at leisure.

Day 10: Guilin

This morning we will venture to Longsheng for a full days touring of the highlights of this area which will include, The Hot Springs and National Forest Park, Dragons Backbone rice terraces, Longsheng town and surrounding villages. You will trek in the Ping'an area, before returning late to Guilin.

Day 11: Guilin - Yangshuo

This morning your Li River cruise departs from down town Guilin for a full days excursion. The 90 Km Li River cruise is the centerpiece of any trip to north eastern Guangxi Province. Gorgeous Karst peaks give you surprises at each bend of the limpid river under the blue sky. Bear witness to rural China as peasants reap rice paddies, school kids and fisherman float by on bamboo rafts. Arriving into Yangshuo, we will transfer you to your hotel.

Day 12: Yangshuo

Spend today and tomorrow at leisure here in scenic Yangshuo. Choose to hike, hire a bicycle or motorbike and head off on one of the many mountain trails or stop to watch the local fishermen use their trained cormorants to catch fish - a centuries old tradition, though somewhat commercialised these days. Time can also be spent exploring West Street. The ancient alley is laden with quirky shops, tea shops, antiques, calligraphers and art studios. Maybe take a beginners art class with a local painter or enjoy a morning class at the ‘Cloud 9’ cooking school.

Day 13: Yangshuo - Chengdu

Free morning to explore. Returning to Guilin, we travel by flight onward to Chengdu for the night.

Day 14: Chengdu

A short drive out of town takes you to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. Covering an area of over 92 acres, there is plenty of space for the Giant Pandas and for you to explore. Here, several species of rare and endangered animals to freely roam. Visiting the Panda nursery is a must, here you can get relatively close to the centre’s infant population. (If you wanted a photo with a Panda upclose then you would need to pay 2000 Yuan locally) Afterwards you we drive back to the city where you have some free time to explore for the latter part of the day.

Day 15: Chengdu - Emei Shan

Driving to Leshan our morning is spent exploring the the UNESCO World Heritage Listed Dafo (Great Buddha), which is carved into the red sandstone face of Lingyun Hill overlooking the treacherous confluence of the Min, Qingyi and Dadu rivers below it. Driving onward take in the views from Emei Shan (Mt Emei) designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its incredible natural beauty and historical Buddhist sites. Arriving at Baoguo, located at the foot of the Mountain, we visit the Temple of Baoguo. Spend the remainder of the day exploring this delightful village, easily navigated by foot.

Day 16: Emei Shan - Chongqing

This morning we travel by cable car to the top of Mt Emei to tour the magnificent Wannian temple. The oldest structure on the mountain, its contents are stunning: three thousand tiny iron Buddhas surround a life sized enamelled bronze sculpture of Bodhisattva Puxian (the protector of the mountain) riding a gilt lotus flower astride his great six tusked white elephant. Weighing over 62 tonnes and standing over 7 metres in height the masterpiece had to be bought to the mountain top in pieces. Returning to Chengdu we catch the evening bullet train to Chongqing.

Day 17: Chongqing - Yangtze & Three Gorges

Today we travel 60KMS from the city and spend the day exploring the Dazu rock carvings situated on Mount Baoding. Later this evening we assist you embarking your 5 * Yangtze Cruise boat.

Days 18-19: Yangtze & Three Gorges

Yangtze & Three Gorges Good morning from the River Yangtze! At 6340km in length, the Yangtze is the 3rd longest river in the world, neatly dividing China into north and south and wending its way through eight very different provinces. The Gorges are a breathtaking sight! Sit back and enjoy cruising the river for today and tomorrow. Whilst cruising, shore excursions are offered at no additional expense to Shibaozhai and Shennong stream, with its unique scenery and four natural gorges. Drift serenely along the stream in small, open ‘pea pod boats’, looking out upon lush greenery, jagged peaks and ancient villages of the Tujia people - one of the local ethnic minorities.

Day 20: Yangtze & Three Gorges - Zhangjiajie

We disembark from our cruise in Yichang late this morning and then head to the station for the train to Zahngjiajie. Arriving here, we transfer you to hotel. OVERNIGHT Zhangjiang Qinghe Jinjiang International Hotel, 5*

Day 21: Zhangjiajie

In the morning, we take the bus to Mountain Tianzi—the king of the peak forest(cable car up). The major peak of the Tianzi Mountain is 1250 meters high. Around it are rolling mountains, peaks and picturesque rocks, which gives a sense of mystery as if in fairy land. Lunch on the mountain top restaurant, then shuttle bus to Yuanjiajie, enjoy the Avatar mountain view. Bailong elevator down the mountain. Then, we take a casual walk along the Golden Whip Stream Canyon flanked by sheer cliffs. OVERNIGHT Zhangjiang Qinghe Jinjiang International Hotel, 5*

Day 22: Zhangjiajie - Shanghai

Today, we have fun in the first national forest park in China, Zhang Jiajie National Forest Park. In the morning, we have a sightseeing on the top of the Yellow Stone Village(cable car up and down), which consists of several thousand quartz sandstone peaks rise abruptly from the ground. Then bus to down town. In the afternoon, we will take the longest cable car to Tianmen Mountain, enjoy the glass sky walk on the cliff and the natural miracle of Heaven’s Gate. After dinner, leave Zhangjiajie for Shanghai by evening flight. Overnight Shanghai.

Day 23: Shanghai

This morning with our guide we explore the Jade Buddha Temple, Yuyuan Garden, Old City area, Oriental Pearl TV tower and Shanghai Museum. We conclude the day with a walk in the Bund area and a cruise on the Huangpu River to see the city lights at sundown.

Day 24: Shanghai

Today, you journey to an oriental Venice – ancient Suzhou interwoven by a series of canals and pretty waterways. Enjoy the day with your guide taking in the scenic town and having a wander along it’s many pretty streets and gardens. Return for an evening at the Acrobatic ERA Show this evening in Shanghai included in your holiday.

Day 25: Shanghai

Day at leisure to explore Shanghai. Tonight you can choose to make a booking at one of the many cities revolving rooftop restaurants and enjoy a dinner overlooking the stunning city lights - a great way to spend your last night here.

Day 26: Shanghai

Transfer to the Airport in time for your flight back home. If you wanted to go by Maglev Train you would need to pay an additional 150 Chinese Yuan locally. End of our services.
