Great Wall

Day 1: Beijing

Huan ying, welcome to China and the start of your holiday! We will be there to meet you at the Airport and transfer you through to you hotel for check in. Remainder of today at leisure.

Forbidden City

Day 2: Beijing

This morning, we embark on a guided sightseeing tour of the nation’s capital. Tiananmen Square is essentially the heart of Beijing. Heading back a few centuries we step into the Forbidden City, the walled city of the former Chinese emperors. This afternoon we explore the Temple of Heaven.

Day 3: Beijing

Today, we drive beyond Beijing to Badaling, where we can walk a section of the famous Great Wall, built during the Ming Dynasty. Continuing a short distance from Badaling, we visit the tombs of the Ming emperors.

Summer Palace

Day 4: Beijing - Yangtze & Three Gorges

This morning we visit the Summer Palace - we explore the lavishly decorated temples, halls and courts, reconstructed in 1902 at the whim of the extravagant Dowager Empress Cixi. We then transfer to the airport for our flight to Yichang to board our Yangtze River Cruise.

Day 5: Yangtze & Three Gorges

Good morning from the River Yangtze! At 6340km in length, the Yangtze is the 3rd longest river in the world, neatly dividing China into north and south and wending its way through eight very different provinces. The Gorges are a breathtaking sight!

Day 6: Yangtze & Three Gorges

During our cruise, we’ll sail through the new ship locks of the impressive Three Gorges Dam construction. Shore excursions to mythical Fengdu - ‘Ghost City’ and Shennong stream, with its unique scenery and four natural gorges. Drift serenely along the stream in open ‘pea pod boats’, looking out upon lush greenery and ancient villages of the Tujia people.

Day 7: Yangtze & Three Gorges

Sit back and enjoy the view as you cruise your through the spectacular vistas of the famous Gorges - Qutangxia Gorge, Wuxia Gorge and Xiling Gorge.

Day 8: Yangtze & Three Gorges - Chongqing

Disembarking in Chongqing, we can stroll along Chongqing’s People’s Square, in the city centre followed by a visit to Chongqing zoo.

Day 9: Chongqing - Xi'an

Early this morning we fly to Xian. This afternoon we’ll visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and take a bike ride along the great old City Wall that offers unique views of the city and residence below.

Day 10: Xi'an

Xi’an in Shaanxi Province is perhaps most famous for the discovery of Emperor Qin’s Terracotta Warriors. The 2,200 year old warriors comprise more than 7,000 life-sized soldiers which stand battle-ready in excavated pits. We tour the site and a workshop where replicas are crafted.

Day 11: Xi'an - Shanghai

This morning we transfer to the airport for our flight to Shanghai. On arrival we are met and transferred to our hotel. Remainder of today is at leisure.

Day 12: Shanghai

Today we enjoy a tour of bustling Shanghai! Today we visit the Oriental Pearl TV tower, Yu GardenThe Bund and the Old City.

Day 13: Shanghai

Today is free for you to explore this city your own way.

Day 14: Shanghai

Today is free for you to explore this city your own way.

Day 15: Shanghai

Today we bid you farewell with a transfer to the airport in time to meet your onward flight.
