Welcome to China! Arrival transfer from the airport to our hotel.
The Great Wall! Following a ridge of barren hills through northern China, it stretches as far as the eye can see - at least 6,700 kms. We will take you to a quieter section on the wall at Mutianyu. We then drive back down town and enjoy Kong Fu show this evening.
This morning we visit the Summer Palace with its UNESCO-listed Imperial Gardens, located on Kunming Lake, This afternoon at leisure.
Today we visit to the famous Tiananmen Square, home to the mausoleum of Chairman Mao Tse-tung, the People’s Heroes. Followed by a visit to The Forbidden City, built between 1406 & 1420, it served as the imperial palace for the Ming & Qing dynasties. Later this evening we board our overnight train - 4 berth soft sleeper cabin (booked out for just the two of you).
We will pick you up from the train station and drive on to Dengfeng, with an afternoon visit to Shaolin Temple - built by the Emperor Hsiao-Wen in AD 477, as well as a Fu Lesson.
Today we visit the Longmen Caves and White Horse Temple. We then take the express train to Xi'an and on arrival, transfer you to the hotel.
Today, we'll be visiting the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, before enjoying a leisurely bike ride on Xian’s Medieval City Wall, which dates from the Ming Dynasty.
Xi’an, perhaps most famous for the discovery of Emperor Qin’s Terracotta Warriors. Discovered in 1974 by local farmers digging a well, the 2,200 year old Warriors comprise more than 7,000 life-sized soldiers. No two faces are alike. We will also visit Huanqing Hot Springs, a scenic spot in the shadow of Li Mountain and a workshop where warrior replicas are made.
We will transfer you to the airport for the flight to Guilin and on arrival, check you into the hotel. We will take you to The Reed Flute Cave Within the cave there are enchanting stalagmites, stone pillars, stele, stone curtains and stone flowers.
This morning your Li River cruise departs from downtown Guilin for a full days excursion. The 90km Li River cruise is the centerpiece of any trip to north-eastern Guangxi Province. Gorgeous Karst peaks give you surprises at each bend of the limpid river under the blue sky. Arrive Yangshou and we transfer you to your hotel.
This morning we will venture to Longsheng for a full days touring of the highlights of this area which will include, Dragons Backbone rice terraces, Longsheng town and surrounding villages of the Zhuang and Yao minority, returning late to Guilin.
Today we fly to Shanghai. Arrive there and our local guide meets you and transfers you to your central located hotel. Remainder of the day at leisure.
After breakfast today we head top explore Shanghai. Once known for its decadent magnetism that attracted fortune-seekers and adventurers, Shanghai looks like a European city in a Chinese setting. A stroll along the famous Shanghai Bund confirms this. Today, we visit the Oriental Pearl TV tower, explore the Jade Buddha Temple, charming Yuyuan Gardens, and the Old City where we can opt to shop on Nanjing Road and also enjoy a short cruise on Huangpu river at night to enjoy the city lights.
Travelling west by train, we journey to Suzhou in Jiangsu Province. One of China’s most charming cities, it’s fame rests on its waterways, and canals that are dotted with traditional bridges, houses and gardens. A cruise on the Grand Canal exposes Suzhou’s beauty. Renown for its silk, we also visit a silk workshop before returning to Shanghai.
Today we bid you farewell and transfer you to the airport in time for your departure flight.
