Great Wall

Day 1: Beijing

Welcome to Beijing and the start of your tour. Upon arrival you will be met by our local representatives and transferred to your accommodation. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Overnight Beijing.

Forbidden City

Day 2: Beijing

This morning stroll through the famous Tiananmen Square, passing Chairman Mao's Mausoleum before walking through the treasure-filled Forbidden City. This afternoon visit the 15th-century Temple of Heaven, one of the most perfect examples of Ming architecture that has four gates, one at each of the four points of the compass. Overnight Beijing

Day 3: Beijing

This morning wander through the landscaped beauty of the Summer Palace. Visit a local home and enjoy a rickshaw ride through the traditional Hutong area. Later, explore Maliandao Tea Street for tea-tasting. Overnight Beijing

Day 4: Beijing

This morning you will be transferred to your basic guesthouse accommodation at the base of the Jinshanling section of the Great Wall which stretches 5,000km from the Shanhaiguan Pass on the east coast to the Gobi Desert in the west. It is estimated that one million people were involved in working on different stages during the construction periods. Later this afternoon enjoy a half-day tour with a walk along the Great Wall. Overnight Beijing.

Day 5: Beijing

Rise early this morning and enjoy another half-day tour with a walk along the Great Wall, taking in the view of the surrounding landscape. Construction began on the Jinshanling section during the rule of the Ming Dynasty. This part of the Great Wall has the total length of 11km, is 7-8m high and 5-6m wide and is made from brick and stone. Later you return to Beijing. Overnight Beijing.

Day 6: Beijing - Xi'an

Today you will be transferred to the airport in time for your flight to Xian. Upon arrival you will be met by our local representatives and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Overnight Xian.

Day 7: Xi'an

Today see one of the most significant archaeological discoveries of the 20th Century, the UNESCO World Heritage listed Terracotta Warriors and Horses. Next visit the ancient City Wall, one of the best preserved in all of China. Stroll through the lively Muslim Quarter and explore the Islamic food markets. Overnight Xian

Day 8: Xi'an

Today is yours to explore this city on your own as you spend it at your leisure. Overnight Xian.

Day 9: Xi'an - Chengdu

Enjoy this morning at your leisure. Later today you will take back to the skies for your flight to Chengdu the capital of Sichuan Province. Upon arrival you will be met by our local representatives and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of today at your leisure. Overnight Chengdu.

The Big Buddha

Day 10: Chengdu

Travel to Leshan to view the Grand Buddha. This enormous statue is carved into the side of the Lingyun Mountain; it is over 71m tall and wide enough for more than 100 people to sit between its feet. Later you will visit Huanglongxi, an ancient town dating back to the Qing Dynasty, before returning to Chengdu for an overnight stay. This evening you will feast on sumptuous Sichuan cuisine. Overnight Chengdu.

Day 11: Chengdu - Jiuzhaigou

Today visit the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding to see these famous animals in surroundings similar to their natural habitat. The base includes a protected wilderness and breeding area, as well as a museum and research facility. Later this evening you will board you flight to Jiuzhaigou. Overnight Jiuzhaigou.

Day 12: Jiuzhaigou

This morning we explore the Nine Villages Valley, a botanical gallery that is heavily forested and home to many protected species. Entering the valley is like being transported into a different world, where crystal clear lakes gather at the foot of every waterfall. Overnight Jiuzhaigou.

Day 13: Jiuzhaigou

Take a halfday tour of Huanglong Valley en route where hundreds of sparkling ponds with beautiful colours intertwine, with water cascading from one pool to another. Pristine forest surrounds the spot, providing truly spectacular mountain views. Enjoy the remainder of the day at your leisure. Overnight Jiuzhaigou.

Day 14: Jiuzhaigou - Guilin

Leaving behind Jiuzhaigou, today you will be transferred to the airport in time for your flight to Guilin (via Chengdu). This evening watch a display of traditional cormorant fishing. Overnight Guilin.

Day 15: Guilin - Yangshuo

Cruise along the Li River as you travel to the town of Yangshuo for a two night stay. This boat journey takes you past tranquil farming and fishing villages and picturesque scenery. Spend the evening walking or relax in a street side café and absorb the colourful atmosphere. Overnight Yangshuo.

Day 16: Yangshuo

Today is your free to explore Yangshuo on your own at your leisure. Overnight Yangshuo.

Day 17: Yangshuo - Guangzhou

Taking to the skies once again you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Guangzhou (via Guilin). Upon arrival you will be met by our local representatives and transferred to your accommodation. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Overnight Guangzhou.


Day 18: Guangzhou

Today you will be met in the hotel lobby by your local English speaking guide and transferred to 10 West Street, Fatsan (Foshan) to see Tina's old family home and the surrounds. After some free time here you will be transferred to Canton Tower where entrance to the observation decks and a ride on the bubble tram are included.

Day 19: Guangzhou - Shanghai

Fly to the cosmopolitan city of Shanghai this morning. Stroll along the famous riverside area known as the Bund and view the Pudong area before visiting the Xintiandi area with its 1920s 'Shikumen' buildings unique to Shanghai. Later, visit Cloud 9 Bar located on the 87th floor of the Jin Mao Tower. Overnight Shanghai.

Day 20: Shanghai

Drive to Zhujiajiao, an ancient water village famous for its canals, ancient pavilions and overhead bridges. Enjoy a tour visiting Fangsheng Bridge which is an ancient stone bridge built in 1571. Continue to explore this charming town at a leisurely pace whilst visiting Kezhi Garden, Daqing Youju, a post office from the Qing Dynasty and Yuanjin Chanyuan, a temple constructed in 1341. Return to Shanghai later this afternoon. Overnight Shanghai

Day 21: Shanghai

Sadly your time with us has come to an end as you are transferred to the airport for your flight to your next destination.
