Today we have a full day excursion to the Great Wall at Jinshanling Pass, a quiet and dramatic section of the wall.
This morning we enjoy a visit to the Temple of Heaven, where you can also see locals practicing Tai Chi in the surrounding park. We then head off to the airport for your flight to Xian. Here, our driver awaits to take you onto your hotel.
Morning excursion to the Terracotta Warriors, followed by a visit to the Xian Art Museum with a lesson in Chinese calligraphy. Afternoon visit to the Bell and Drum Towers, the Muslim Quarter and Grand Mosque, and stroll among the stalls of the bazaar. Optional evening excursion to enjoy a Tang dynasty music performance with dinner.
This morning we tour the city walls, then continue to the Wild Goose Pagoda. Afternoon visit to the Tomb of Emperor Jingdi (Hanyangling) then fly to Guilin where on arrival we transfer you to your hotel.
Today we take a cruise down the Li river, past a landscape of limestone hills, fishing villages and rice fields. Arriving into Yangshuo, enjoy a brief time to explore before returning to your Guilin hotel.
This morning we drive to Longsheng. Here, we explore the rice terraces of the Dragon’s Backbone! Beginning at the base of Mt Longji the verdant green rice fields coil the steep mountain layer upon layer climbing to its summit. Where there is soil a terrace has been made! Taking a walk along the stone paths no more than a metre wide, we climb skyward to enjoy panoramic views of the ribbon like terraces with picturesque valleys and meandering streams below. This morning a visit to the Giant Panda Research Base. In the afternoon, transfer by train to Chongqing on the Yangtze river. Board the Victoria Katarina (or similar) for a 3-night cruise to Yichang.
Full day cruise along the upper reaches of the Yangtze with a morning excursion to Fengdu.
Full-day passing through the Three Gorges, with an excursion up the Daning river tributary. The cliffs here reach up to 1,200 metres tall and, even after the dam, they remain hugely impressive. In the evening, pass through the locks.
