Today, we embark on a guided tour of the nation’s capital. Tiananmen Square, a patriotic vision of grandeur and the Forbidden city, the walled city of the former Chinese emperors boasting stunning temples, courtyards and reception halls. After lunch with a family in their traditional style house, we take an afternoon rickshaw ride navigating the old back lanes and courtyards of Beijing’s Hutongs. This evening, we enjoy an eye boggling Chinese acrobatic performance. Swinging ropes, juggling hoops, spinning plates and human pyramids are just a few tricks these show stoppers pull out followed by a Welcome Dinner of Peking Duck at a city restaurant. Today we walk the famous Great Wall of China. The UNESCO protected Great Wall of China was built as a defensive structure to protect China against marauding invaders from the north. Today, the now partially ruinous Great Wall stretches some 6700 kms across barren hills, deserts, mountains and plateaus. Today’s visit offers a healthy, if steep and vertiginous walk with breathtaking views of the Chinese countryside. After lunch and returning to Beijing enjoy a tour of the Summer Palace. Today enjoy a tour of the Temple of Heaven and maybe even join in some Tai Chi in a local park. Afterwards you will visit the Pearl Market. After lunch you will be transferred to the train station where we fast train to Xian. Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight Xian.
Enjoy a day tour out to Luoyang. Today we explore the UNESCO - listed 6th Century Longman Caves etched into the cliffs of the Yi River. The 1300 caves (grottoes) are adorned with 100,000 statues and images of Buddha and his disciples, carved during the Northern Wei Dynasty. Later on we tour the White Horse Temple, the first Buddhist temple in China. Later return to Xian by train. Overnight - Xi'an
Emperor Qin’s Terracotta Warriors are reputed to be the greatest discovery of the 20th century - 7,000 life-sized clay soldiers stand ready for battle. We also visit The mausoleum of Qin Shihuang. After lunch enjoy a Walk or bike along the wall of the old city and a short tour of The Muslim Quarter. This evening you are transferred to the airport in time for your light to Guilin. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Overnight - Guilin.
This morning you travel out to Longsheng to visit the amazing rice terraces. With its charming natural scenery and exotic ethnic flavour this region is something that cant be missed. Afterwards return to Guilin. Overnight Guilin.
Leaving Guilin we travel to Yangshuo by boat along the Li River. The afternoon is free to you to explore on your own. Later this evening enjoy a cultural experience with the lights and sounds of the Impression Sanjie Show. Overnight Yangshuo.
This morning enjoy a short bike ride into the country side before being transferred back to the airport in time for your flight to Shanghai. Upon arrival you will be met by our local representatives. This afternoon enjoy a short tour of Shanghai where you will visit the Nanjing Road China's premier shopping street. While here you will also visit the famous waterfront of the Bund. Shanghai - Suzhou - Shanghai. Today, we journey to an oriental Venice via high speed train - ancient Suzhou interwoven by a series of canals and pretty waterways. We cruise on the Grand Canal at 1800km in length it's the longest canal on earth and ranks alongside the Great Wall as China’s greatest engineering achievement, and visit a silk workshop Overnight - Shanghai
Enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Shanghai. Today visit the tranquil Garden Yuyuan. Also visit the Shanghai's ancient streets and the former French concession. After lunch enjoy a cruise along the Huangpu River and a must for most visitors to the city. Later this afternoon you will visit the Pearl Tower to get the fantastic panoramic views the Shanghai has to offer. Returning to the hotel for your last night with us. Overnight Shanghai.
