Welcome to Beijing, and the start of your captivating journey through the Orient! On arrival into Beijing International Airport you will be met by and On The Go Representative and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure, so you can start exploring Beijing independently or relax and rest up for the evening at the hotel.
Today you will set out to sightsee the nation's capital, starting with Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. Tiananmen Square - home to the Monument of the People's Heroes and many important events in Chinese history - most notably the 1989 Student Protests. The Forbidden CIty - so called as it was only visited by people on Imperial business up until 1911 - is a vision in grandeur with yellow roofs, vermilion walls and the innermost sanctum of Beijing. This afternoon you will walk through the city's many temples, grand halls and courtyards before visiting the Temple of Heaven later today.
Today you take a journey outside of the city to the most famous wall in the world - the Great Wall of China. Take a walk or maybe even a climb on some of the lesser visited parts of the wall at Mutianyu- a much more fulfilling and intimate experience of the wall! Later on you can opt to see how they make traditional noodles and sample them afterwards. When you have walked enough of the wall - you return to Bejing for your final night there.
This morning enjoy some time at leisure to relax or perhaps go the park surrounding the Temple of Heaven to see the locals practice Tai Chi, Ball ROom Dancing and more. This afternoon with your guide you head over to the Summer Palace with its UNESCO listed imperial gardens on Kunming Lake. Tonight you'll be transferred to the train station for your overnight sleeper train to Xi'an.
Your morning in Xi'an starts with a transfer to the hotel for breakfast. Later, a visit to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda before a leisurely bike ride around the City Wall, which dates from the Ming Dynasty. You then head to the local Muslim Quarter and the Great Mosque. Evening at your leisure.
Home to the world famous Terracotta Warriors, which were discovered in 1974 by local farmers who were digging for a well. These soldiers are over 2200 years old and no two warriors are the same - it is believed they are a self portrait of the individual soldiers. After an informative look around this battle ready army you'll visit local crafts people who make clay warrior replicas which you can purchase. This evening you head for the station and board another overnight sleeper train - this time to Chengdu - land of the Giant Pandas!
Awaken this morning in Chengdu - capital of Sichuan province - famed for its outstanding natural beauty, fiery cuisine and China’s first, largest and best known Panda research and breeding centre. On arrival into the station you'll be transferred to your hotel. Afterwards, visit the Wuhou Memorial Temple, the Tomb of Wang Jian and Jinli Lu street - part of the old city where an open air theatre and Sichuan Opera are performed in the evening you can opt to book and attend a performance locally if you like.
A short drive out of town takes on your visit to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. Afterwards your guide will take you to Renmin park to drink some tea as the locals love to do. The evening is spent at leisure.
Driving to Leshan your morning is spent exploring the UNESCO World Heritage Listed Dafo (Great Buddha), which is carved into the red sandstone face of Lingyun Hill. It is standing at Dafo's huge 8m feet that you can really appreciate the scale of one of the world's largest Buddhas. Talking numbers, his ears droop 7m, his shoulders span 28m and his nose measures a whopping 5.6m! Later you return to the city for some down time.
This morning fly to Huanglong- a region that for centuries has been inhabited by various Tibetan and Qiang people. Arriving here our local guide is going to take you to visit some of amazing sites such as Huang Long Valley, Danyun Gorge, Snow Treasure Peak, Zhaga Waterfall, and the Erdao Lake all the while surrounded by gorgeous mountain scenery. After, we drive to your hotel in Jiuzhaigou.
Today is spent exploring the Jiuzhaigou Scenic Reserve. Located in the high Min Shan mountain range, the Jiuzhaigou reserve is renowned for its outstanding natural beauty. The whole scenic resort actually is a narrow valley, in which the forest vegetation area is 60,000 hectares. Because of its inconvenience of the traffic, it is a peaceful place without any noise from the outside world. There are only 9 Tibetan villages in the valley. That is why it calls Jiuzhaigou, which means 9 villages in the valley in Chinese.
Today we set off to the airport for your flight to Guilin (Via Chengdu). Arriving there our friendly local rep awaits for you in arrivals and transfers you to your hotel. Enjoy the evening to relax after your long day of travel.
Renown for it’s striking, if bizarre scenery, vast areas of karst limestone outcrops that rise up from flat rice paddy fields, Guilin is often the subject of Chinese painting. We undertake a relaxing cruise down the River Li to Yangshuo passing an endless procession of peaks and simple villages. The local fishermen use trained cormorants to catch fish and local village boys paddle out to the river boats with all manner of souvenirs. We spend some time in charming Yangshuo, with its little shops and cafes. Back in Guilin, we visit the enormous Reed Flute Cave.
Today, we fly from Guilin to scenic Hangzhou. Hangzhou is unusual for a Chinese city, in that it encompasses large tracts of greenery which might normally be classified as countryside. Arriving here, our rep will transfer you to your hotel/ Enjoy an afternoon exploring the Six Harmonies Pagoda and the famous Chinese Tea Museum.
Today we will explore the West Lake, Lingyin Temple and take a bicycle ride in the gorgeous greenery that surrounds us. Remainder of the later afternoon at your leisure.
Sitting at the foot of Mt Huangshan, Tunxi is an ancient town that is set around the junction of two rivers in the southernmost area of Anhui Province. Its famous ancient street are lined with many ancient, yet very well preserved, buildings in the Ming and Qing style. Upon arriving in Tunxi, the remainder of the day at leisure.
Today a visit to Huangshan by cable car. Considered the most beautiful mountain in China, Yellow Mountain or Huangshan is one of a range of 72 peaks in the south of Anhui Province. Set amidst rural landscapes and with its slopes clad in pine, the ethereal scenery is nothing short of breathtaking. Enjoy the day exploring various scenic points depending on your level of fitness your guide will show you many amazing places.

Returning back down to earth by cable car this morning we travel to ancient Suzhou in Jiangsu Province. One of China’s most charming cities, Suzhou’s fame rests on its waterways and canals that are dotted with traditional bridges, houses and UNESCO-listed gardens.
Enjoy a day exploring this Oriental Venice. A cruise on the Grand Canal exposes Suzhou’s beauty. We also visit a silk workshop and the Humble Administrator’s Garden. Remainder of the day at your leisure to explore.
An hour’s journey brings us to bustling Shanghai. free for you to explore the city your own way. Perhaps visit the Oriental Pearl TV tower, the Jade Buddha Temple, French Quarter, The Bund or the Old City.
Sadly your journey through the Orient comes to an end today, we will be sure to transfer you to the airport in time for your flight home.
