Great Wall

Day 1: Beijing

Welcome to China and the start of your exclusive Oriental adventure! On arrival into Beijing International Airport you will be met by and On The Go Representative and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure, so you can start exploring Beijing independently or relax and rest up for the evening at the hotel.

Day 2: Beijing

Today you take a journey outside of the city to the most famous wall in the world - the Great Wall of China. Take a walk or maybe even a climb on some of the lesser visited parts of the wall - a much more fulfilling and intimate experience of the wall! Later on you can opt to see how they make traditional noodles and sample them afterwards. When you have walked enough of the wall - you return to Beijing for your final night there.

Day 3: Beijing

Today is at your leisure to explore the city sights such as Temple of Heaven, Tienanmen Square and the Forbidden City.

Day 4: Beijing - Xi'an

Today is at your leisure to explore the city sights such as the Summer Palace and the Silk Alley Markets. Later we collect you and assist you to the station to catch the sleeper train to Xian.

Day 5: Xi'an

Your morning in Xi'an starts with a transfer to the hotel where you can freshen up and have some breakfast. Enjoy an in-depth tour of the Terracotta Warriors with our guide. The warriors were discovered in 1974 by local farmers who were digging for a well. These soldiers are over 2200 years old and no two warriors are the same - it is believed they are a self portrait of the individual soldiers.

Day 6: Xi'an - Chengdu

Today is at your leisure to explore the city in your own time. We recommend you go and see the city wall, the Wild Goose Pagoda, Bell & Drum towers. This evening you head for the station and board another overnight sleeper train - this time to Chengdu - land of the Giant Pandas!

Day 7: Chengdu

Awaken this morning in Chengdu - capital of Sichuan province - famed for its outstanding natural beauty, fiery cuisine and China’s first, largest and best known Panda research and breeding centre. On arrival into the station you'll be transferred to your hotel. Afterwards, visit the Wuhou Memorial Temple, the Tomb of Wang Jian and Jinli Lu street - part of the old city where an open air theatre and Sichuan Opera are performed.

Day 8: Chengdu

A short drive out of town with our guide takes you to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. Here, spend as long as you like exploring the center before we drive you back to the city, and to Renmin park to drink some tea as the locals love to do. The evening is spent at leisure.

Day 9: Chengdu - Kunming

Driving to Leshan your morning is spent exploring the UNESCO World Heritage Listed Dafo (Great Buddha), which is carved into the red sandstone face of Lingyun Hill overlooking the treacherous confluence of the Min, Qingyi and Dadu rivers below it. It is standing at Dafo's huge 8m feet that you can really appreciate the scale of one of the world's largest Buddhas. Talking numbers, his ears droop 7m, his shoulders span 28m and his nose measures a whopping 5.6m! Later you return to the city and to the airport for your late evening flight to Kunming.

Day 10: Kunming - Dali

Excursion to Stone Forest. Celebrated as a natural wonder, it’s Yunnan’s most visited sight. As you stroll along the winding paths and lookout points, you’ll be in awe of the bizarre, tightly packed formations of almost ‘petrified’ stone that forms this unusual attraction 120 km from Kunming. Tonight catch the overnight (hard) sleeper train to Dali.

Day 11: Dali

After an arrival transfer in the early morning sightseeing in Dali and surrounds includes a cruise on Lake Erhai, some orientation stops at some ancient temples and villages, a visit to Butterfly Spring - a popular spot surrounded by a marble balustrade and overhung by an ancient tree that produces butterfly-like flowers and the famous Three Pagodas. Back in Dali,enjoy some free time exploring the old section of the town.

Day 12: Dali - Lijiang

Leaving Dali you’ll travel north to UNESCO-listed Lijiang - a Naxi stronghold, enjoy free time in the labyrinthine streets of Dayan Old Town.

Day 13: Lijiang

Today we head to the thrillingly named Tiger leaping gorge on the Yangtze River, where there is time to walk and take in the scenery. Some 16km long and up to 3000m deep, it is the world's deepest canyon. The gorge is so narrow at various points that legend has it a tiger once escaped pursuit by leaping across. Visiting the gorge, you’ll have a chance to walk a section and take in the dramatic, yet stark scenery.

Day 14: Lijiang

Enjoy a day at leisure in Lijiang we would highly recommend visiting the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Yufeng Si Monastery.

Day 15: Lijiang - Guilin

This morning we head to the airport for the 08:10 AM direct flight to Guilin. Arriving here, we will transfer you to your hotel. This aftrnoon you pay a visit to The Reed Flute Cave, where there are enchanting stalagmites, stone pillars, stele, stone curtains and stone flowers. Then we continue on to Elephant Trunk Hill Located at the confluence of the Taohua (Peach Blossom) River and the Li River.

Day 16: Guilin - Yangshuo

This morning your Li River cruise departs from downtown Guilin for a full days excursion. The 90 Km Li River cruise is the centerpiece of any trip to northeastern Guangxi Province. Gorgeous Karst peaks give you surprises at each bend of the limpid river under the blue sky. Bear witness to rural China as peasants reap rice paddies, school kids and fisherman float by on bamboo rafts. Arriving into Yangshuo, our local rep is on hand to take you onto your hotel.

Day 17: Yangshuo

Today and tomorrow are at your leisure to explore and enjoy the fantastic scenic region.

Day 18: Yangshuo - Hangzhou

This morning we drive to Longsheng. Here, we explore the rice terraces of the Dragon’s Backbone! Beginning at the base of Mt Longji the verdant green rice fields coil the steep mountain layer upon layer climbing to its summit. Where there is soil a terrace has been made! Taking a walk along the stone paths no more than a metre wide, we climb skyward to enjoy panoramic views of the ribbon like terraces with picturesque valleys and meandering streams below. This evening we head to the station and catch the 19:07 sleeper train to Hangzhou.

Day 19: Hangzhou

Arriving around noon, meet our guide and driver who will take you to the hotel. Enjoy the day free to explore.

Day 20: Hangzhou

Enjoy a day at leisure to explore the sights you want to see.

Day 21: Hangzhou - Suzhou

This morning a transfer to the train station and we assist you in catching the high speed train to Suzhou. Arriving here, we will take you to the hotel. Spend the day exploring at your leisure.

Day 22: Suzhou - Shanghai

Spend your day at leisure. Later we transfer to the train station and assist you in catching the highspeed train to Shanghai City.

Day 23: Shanghai

Today with our expert guide enjoy visiting the Jade Buddha Temple, Yuyuan Garden and street market, The Bund, shopping along Nanjing Road or taking a cruise along the Huangpu River.

Day 24: Shanghai

Today we have a full day excursion to Xitang, which is a famous town with thousands of years of history. Our guide here will take you to wander around the old buildings and lanes and then enjoy a cruise on the canal. Returning to Shanghai in the early evening, enjoy some free time.

Day 25: Shanghai

Sadly your journey has come to an end, we will transfer you to the airport in time for your flight home.
