Great Wall

Day 1: Beijing

Huan ying, welcome to China and the start of your holiday! Airport arrival transfer and hotel check in.

Day 2: Beijing

This morning, we tour the centre of Beijing including the massive Tiananmen Square and the sprawling Forbidden City. Boasting some 9999 rooms, the city within a city was once the sole preserve of the Chinese emperors. Afternoon rickshaw ride through the Hutongs of Beijing and welcome dinner this evening.

Day 3: Beijing

Today, we drive beyond Beijing to Mutianyu to walk a section of the famous Great Wall. Built in the Ming Dynasty, a 6m wide pathway makes a formidable defence, following the highest contours of a steep range of hills. Where you visit fewer tourists go so you can really enjoy the atmosphere and views in your own space on the great wall of China -- Return to Beijing this evening.

Summer Palace

Day 4: Beijing

This morning a visit to the Temple of Heaven and a walk around the surrounding park where locals practice Tai Chi - play chess and more after, we visit the Emperor's Summer Palace, set on Kunming Lake and the gartantuous Silk Alley Markets. After we drive past the 2008 Olympic stadium commonly referred to as the ‘birdsnest’ and aquatic centre -- Return to your hotel.

Day 5: Beijing - Harbin

Morning at leisure - Afternoon flight to Harbin -- Arrival transfer to your hotel.

Enjoy guided tour of the Ice Festival highlights to include - Snow Sculptures on Sun Island, North-east tiger zoo and Russian town.

Day 7: Harbin

Enjoy guided tour of the Ice Festival highlights to include - Harbin Ice and Snow World and Central Street.

Day 8: Harbin

Enjoy guided tour of the Ice Festival highlights to include - St.Sophia Church Square, Memorial Tower watch winter swimmers and ice latern in Zhaolin Park.

Day 9: Harbin - Chengdu

Today you will fly one the daily one direct flight to Chengdu it departs at 12:35 on arrival at 16:30 our friendly local team await your arrival for transfer to the hotel (Superior Hotel but rooming will be Suite)

Day 10: Chengdu

Today we tour Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding a short drive out of town. China’s Giant Pandas are considered the most endangered mammal on the planet. Due to a loss of habitat in the Sichuan, Shaanxi, and Gansu Provinces it is estimated that there are less than 1500 giant pandas remaining in the wild - 80% of which are located in Sichuan Provence. (Superior Hotel but rooming will be Suite)

Day 11: Chengdu - Emei Shan

Driving to Leshan our morning is spent exploring the the UNESCO World Heritage Listed Dafo (Great Buddha), which is carved into the red sandstone face of Lingyun Hill overlooking the treacherous confluence of the Min, Qingyi and Dadu rivers below it. Driving onward take in the views from Emei Shan (Mt Emei) designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its incredible natural beauty and historical Buddhist sites. Arriving at Baoguo, located at the foot of the Mountain, we visit the Temple of Baoguo. Overnight here.

Day 12: Emei Shan - Hong Kong

This morning we travel by cable car to the top of Mt Emei to tour the magnificent Wannian temple. The oldest structure on the mountain, its contents are stunning: three thousand tiny iron Buddhas surround a life sized enamelled bronze sculpture of Bodhisattva Puxian (the protector of the mountain) riding a gilt lotus flower astride his great six tusked white elephant. Weighing over 62 tonnes and standing over 7 metres in height the masterpiece had to be bought to the mountain top in pieces. Returning to Chengdu for your late afternoon flight to Hong Kong. Arrival in Hong Kong included transfer to your hotel.
