Day 1: Beijing

Welcome to China and the start of your holiday! Arrive Beijing Airport and included transfer to our hotel. The remainder of the day offers free time. Overnight - Beijing

Day 2: Beijing

While Esther enjoys a guided sightseeing tour of the Temple of Heaven. More appropriately called the Alter of Heaven is a complex of religious buildings situated in the south eastern part of central Beijing. Catherine will be met at the airport and transferred to the hotel by our local representatives. Tonight you will join each other for dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight Beijing.

Day 3: Beijing

This morning, explore the heart of Beijing including the vast Tiananmen Square where Chairman Mao’s tomb and various monuments to the people are located. This evening you are treated to cultural show. Overnight Beijing

Day 4: Beijing - Harbin

Beijing - Harbin. Today you are transferred to the airport in time for your flight up to Harbin. Overnight - Harbin

Day 5: Harbin

This is a wonderful time to visit as sculptors will still be adding final touches to their masterpieces. This evening we head out to Zhaolin Park for the enchanting Ice Lantern Garden Party. Ice blocks standing some 8 metres tall, resembling giant ice lollies are sculpted into the most unusual designs; a rooster, a dragon boat, a pair of cupids fluttering in the heavens and a cavalry about to do battle. Each is lit up with hundreds of Traditional Chinese lanterns and a multitude of neon creating the most spectacular photo opportunities. Overnight – Harbin

Day 6: Harbin

Today enjoy exploring this festival the way you want. Overnight Harbin

Day 7: Harbin - Beijing

This morning for something a little different enjoy a visit to the Siberian Tiger Park the largest natural park for wild Siberian tigers in the world, where you spend some time viewing these majestic animals. As the natural environment becomes worse, many creatures are endangered and some have died out. The Siberian tiger is considered endangered. This afternoon you will fly back to Beijing

Day 8: Beijing

Dominating the city’s heart is the Forbidden City, a centre of power for five centuries and seat of the emperors. Entering through the Gate of Heavenly Peace (replete with Chairman Mao’s portrait above the gate). Later today you will explore the Summer Palace. Overnight Beijing.

Day 9: Beijing

Don some comfortable shoes. Today, drive out of the city to Badaling, where you can walk a section of the Great Wall. Some sections are fairly steep, but the walk on the vast wall that snakes for thousands of kilometres is one of those ‘must do’ experiences! Continuing a short distance from Badaling, we visit the tombs of the Ming emperors. You'll also visit to a cloisonne workshop, where you can see first hand the unique Chinese art of combining copper and enamel to make decorative pieces. There’s a shop if you fancy splashing a little cash. Overnight - Beijing (B, L)

Day 10: Beijing

Enjoy touring of the Hutongs today, you will also get some time to go shopping for some trinkets and souvenirs. Overnight Beijing.

Day 11: Beijing - Xi'an

Taking to the skies you will fly to Xian where the Terracotta Worriers stand ever ready and ever vigilant. These soldiers are over 2200 years old and no two warriors are the same - it is believed they are a self portrait of the individual soldiers. After an informative look around this battle ready army you'll visit local crafts people who make clay warrior replicas which you can purchase. Overnight Xian

Day 12: Xi'an

Your morning in Xi'an starts with a visit to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda before a leisurely bike ride around the City Wall, which dates from the Ming Dynasty. You then head to the local Muslim Quarter and the Great Mosque. Overnight - Xi'an

Day 13: Xi'an - Guilin

Taking to the skies again you are transferred to the airport in time for your flight to Guillin. Upon arrival you will be met by our local representatives and transferred to your hotel. Later today enjoy a tour of the Reed Flute Cave and the Elephant Trunk Hill. Overnight Guilin.

Day 14: Guilin

This morning your Li River cruise departs from downtown Guilin for a full days excursion. The 90 Km Li River cruise is the centrepiece of any trip to north eastern Guangxi Province. Gorgeous Karst peaks give you surprises at each bend of the limpid river under the blue sky. Bear witness to rural China as peasants reap rice paddies, school kids and fisherman float by on bamboo rafts. Overnight Guilin.

Day 15: Guilin - Shanghai

Leaving Rural China behing you will fly to Shanghai. Today you will visit the Yu yuan Garden, visit the new development zone in Pudong - Lujiazui, which is teeming with the futuristic, avant-garde buildings - Oriental Pearl Tower, Jin Mao Building, Bank of China Tower. Taking the elevator to the 88-storey Observation Deck of Jinmao Tower. Overnight Shanghai.

Day 16: Shanghai

Shanghai is an incredible blend of old and new, Just across the Huangpu River is the new Shanghai, a high-tech development of sky scrapers. Today we have a visit the older parts of Shanghai as you visit , Nanjing Pedestrian Road, the Bund and aslo cruise along the Huang Pu River. Today you will also visit the Shanghai Museum. Overnight Shanghai.

Day 17: Shanghai

From fishing village to super metropolis, the new Shanghai is perhaps China's Manhattan. Blending old with new, Shanghai is one of planet Earth's most amazing cities. Spend the next couple of days at leisure. Overnight - Shanghai.

Day 18: Shanghai

Sadly your time with us has come to and end as you are transferred to the airport in time for your departure flight.
