Travel to picturesque Wuzhen. We enjoy a walking tour of Wuzhen, a sort of oriental Venice, ancient Wuzhen is interwoven by a series of canals, pretty waterways and overhead bridges. Later in the afternoon return to Shanghai. Enjoy a banquet dinner of traditional Shanghai cuisine.
Focus your eyes on spectacular Shanghai. Perhaps, China’s most modern city, its amazing Pudong skyline is stunning. After breakfast at our hotel, we take a tour of the many city sights including Yuyuan Gardens and the Old Town, Jade Buddha Temple, Shanghai Museum and the Xintiandi area. We stroll along The Bund and Nanjing Road, with a cruise on the Huangpu River.
Transfer to Shanghai airport for your flight to Zhangjiajie, where you will be met and transfer to your hotel.
Enjoying the scenery of Zhangjiajie, we will visit Huanglong cave, Lake Baofeng and Tianzhi Mountain where we overnight.
Enjoy the surrounding area of Zhangjiajie including the Flass Skywalk and Tianmen Mountain.
Today, we transfer to the airport for your flight to Chengdu, home of the Giant Panda and capital of Sichuan province is famed for its outstanding natural beauty, fiery cuisine and China’s first, largest and best known Panda research and breeding centre. You will be met and transferred to your hotel.
Driving to Leshan, where we take a boat trip to spend our morning exploring the the UNESCO World Heritage Listed Dafo (Great Buddha), which is carved into the red sandstone face of Lingyun Hill overlooking the treacherous confluence of the Min, Qingyi and Dadu rivers below it. Returning to Chengdu, we stop to visit the ancient town of Huanglongxi, known for its beautiful scenery and traditional culture. This evening enjoy a delicious Sichuan cuisine.
Today we tour Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding a short drive out of town. China’s Giant Pandas are considered the most endangered mammal on the planet. Due to a loss of habitat in the Sichuan, Shaanxi, and Gansu Provinces it is estimated that there are less than 1500 giant pandas remaining in the wild - 80% of which are located in Sichuan Provence. Afterwards, stroll along Jinli Lu street - part of the old city where open air theatre and Sichuan Opera are performed in the evening.
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Xi'an, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Tonight, enjoy a traditional Tang Dynasty performance of music and dance and Shui Jiao Dumpling banquet.
Xi'an - home to the Terracotta Warriors archaeological site. 7,000 Warriors stand battle ready and have done so for the past 2,200 years. Have a go at counting them! After our visit of the warriors, we explore the ancient City Wall of Xi'an.
This morning, we tour the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the Shaanxi Provincial Museum before wandering through the Muslim Quarter and exploring. Later, we transfer you to the airport for your flight to the capital city of China, Beijing.
This morning, we tour the centre of Beijing, China's magnificent capital, including the massive Tiananmen Square and the sprawling Forbidden City. Boasting some 9999 rooms, the city within a city was once the sole preserve of the Chinese emperors. This afternoon, we visit the Temple of Heaven before an eye boggling Chinese acrobatic performance. Swinging ropes, juggling hoops and human pyramids are just a few tricks these show stoppers pull out.
Don some comfortable shoes, today as we walk a section of the famous Great Wall (Badaling section). Zig zagging some 6000 kilometres, ducking and weaving through mountain peaks and lush terrain, climbing the Great Wall is one of those ‘must do’ experiences! Afterward we visit a cloisonne workshop, viewing the unique art of decorating copper with colourful enamel. Later we visit the Emperor's Summer Palace, set on Kunming Lake. Enjoy a dinner of Peking Duck in the evening.
Today, we transfer you to the airport for your flight to Hong Kong, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
