Welcome to Hong Kong and the start of your holiday with On the Go Tours. Upon arrival we will be there to meet and transfer you to your hotel. Enjoy the next two days at leisure exploring Hong Kong independently.
This afternoon we will collect you from your hotel lobby and transfer you to the airport for your flight to Guilin. In Guilin we will assist with your transfer and hotel check-in. The remainder of the day is at leisure.
This morning your Li River cruise departs from downtown Guilin for a full day's excursion. The 90km Li River cruise is a highlight of any trip to the northeastern Guangxi Province with gorgeous karst peaks, peasants reaping rice paddy fields and fisherman floating by on bamboo rafts. The cruise finishes in Yangshuo where you can enjoy free time to explore before heading back to Guilin.
This morning you visit The Reed Flute Cave. Within the cave there are enchanting stalagmites, stone pillars, stone curtains and stone flowers. Continue on to Elephant Trunk Hill. Located at the confluence of the Taohua (Peach Blossom) River and the Li River, this hill is too famous to be missed. This afternoon fly to Chongqing where you will board your Yangtze cruise destined for Yichang.
Good morning from the River Yangtze! At 6340km in length, the Yangtze is the third longest river in the world, neatly dividing China into north and south, and winding its way through eight very different provinces. For today and tomorrow enjoy spectacular vistas passing through the famous Qutangxia, Wuxia and Xiling Gorges on your way to Yichang.
Today marks the end of your cruise. Arriving into Yichang around 13:00, disembark from the ship. You will be met on arrival by our local guide and transferred to the airport for your flight to Shanghai. Hotel check in and remainder of the evening at leisure.
After breakfast head out to explore the city. Once known for its decadent magnetism that attracted fortune seekers and adventurers, Shanghai looks like a European city in a Chinese setting. On a guided tour today visit the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, explore the Jade Buddha Temple, charming Yuyuan Gardens, and the Old City where you can opt to shop on Nanjing Road. This evening also enjoy a short cruise on Huangpu River to view the city lights.
Travelling west journey to Suzhou in Jiangsu Province via the express train. One of China’s most charming cities, its fame rests on its waterways and canals that are dotted with traditional bridges, houses and gardens. Your cruise on the Grand Canal exposes Suzhou’s beauty. Being renowned for its silk, we also visit a silk workshop before returning to Shanghai.
This morning fly to Xian. After your arrival transfer with check in to your hotel, head out to explore the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the Muslim Quarter. Encircling the old city is Xi’an’s medieval City Wall, where you'll enjoy a hired bike ride. Remainder of the day offers free time for you to explore at leisure.
Today we visit Huaqing Hot Springs, a scenic spot in the shadow of Li Mountain. Before visiting the Terracotta Warrior archaeological site, we visit a workshop where we see the process used to create the terracotta figurines. In battle formation, the Terracotta Warriors are one of China’s most incredible sights. Later this evening we will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Beijing. On arrival, transfer to your hotel.
Today we explore the heart of Beijing including the vast Tiananmen Square where Chairman Mao’s tomb and various monuments to the people are located. Dominating the city’s heart is the Forbidden City, a centre of power for five centuries and seat of the emperors. Enjoy a guided walk of this old city within a city before heading to the Temple of Heaven.
Don some comfortable shoes! Today we drive out of the city to Badaling, where you can walk a section of the Great Wall. Some sections are fairly steep, but the walk on the vast wall that snakes for thousands of kilometres is one of those ‘must do’ experiences! We then return to Beijing to visit the Summer Palace.
Today marks the end of your adventure with On the Go Tours. We bid you farewell with a transfer to the airport for your onward departure flight.
