Great Wall

Day 1: Beijing

Huan ying, welcome to China and the start of your journey of a lifetime through the Orient! When you arrive at Beijing airport our local guide and driver await to transfer you to your hotel. The remainder of today is at your leisure.

Forbidden City

Day 2: Beijing

This morning, we tour the centre of Beijing, China's magnificent capital, including the massive Tian'anmen Square and the sprawling Forbidden City. Boasting some 9999 rooms, the city within a city was once the sole preserve of the Chinese emperors. This afternoon we take a rickshaw ride through the Hutongs of Beijing for a glimpse of traditional life in fast evolving city, and later enjoy a welcome dinner of Peking Duck in the evening.

Day 3: Beijing

Today, we drive beyond Beijing to Badaling, to walk a section of the famous Great Wall. Built in the Ming Dynasty, a 6m wide pathway makes a formidable defence, following the highest contours of a steep range of hills. Tonight, we attend a Chinese acrobatic performance.

Summer Palace

Day 4: Beijing - Xi'an

Free morning, opt for a walk in the local street market located near our hotel. There are a few unusual breakfast delicacies on offer! Later we visit the Emperor's Summer Palace, set on Kunming Lake and the Silk Alley Markets. After we drive past the 2008 Olympic Stadium commonly referred to as the ‘Bird's Nest’ and Aquatic Centre before heading to the airport for your flight to Xian. Arrive Xi’an and meet our local guide.

Day 5: Xi'an

Today we tour the Terracotta Warrior archaeological site where some 7,000 warriors stand in battle ready position and a factory demonstrating how the warriors are crafted. Tonight, optional Tang Dynasty Bolt-on, with dinner and performance. Have a read of the enhance your holiday page for price.

Day 6: Xi'an - Hong Kong

Today we visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and take a bicycle ride along Xi’an medieval City Wall. We then proceed to the airport for your flight to Hong Kong. Arriving here, our local driver will take you to your hotel.

Days 7-9: Hong Kong

Welcome to Hong Kong! Enjoy the next couple of days at your leisure. Perhaps head up Victoria Peak to look down over the islands and the new territories, or why not end your Chinese adventures with a sampan (junk) boat ride around Aberdeen’s harbour and a seafood dish in one of the famed restaurants by the water front.

Day 10: Hong Kong

Today make your own way to Hong Kong airport for your flight home. For reference, Hong Kong International airport is a quick 24min journey on the Airport Express train, running at 12 minute intervals.
