Day 1: Xi'an

Upon arriving in Xian you will be transferred to your hotel. Later today you will visit the great mosque. This evening you will also get to see a puppet show.

Day 2: Xi'an

Today we visit Emperor Qin's Terracotta Warriors. The discovery of despotic Emperor Qin Shi Huangdi’s army of 2,200-year-old terracotta warriors occurred in 1974 when local farmers digging a well stumbled upon the site. Qin (a man heavily pre-occupied by death and his legacy) enlisted 700,000 people over some 36 years to create his tomb and had the warriors made in order to be buried near him to protect him in the afterlife. His burial complex is also said to contain 48 tombs for his concubines who were buried alive with the emperor upon his death, a fate also reserved for workers, to prevent the location and design of the tomb from becoming public knowledge

Day 3: Xi'an - Beijing

Today you will be transferred to the airport where you will board a flight to Beijing. Upon arriving in Beijing you will be transferred to your hotel. Later today you will go on a sightseeing tour of the city.

Day 4: Beijing

This morning, We explore the heart of Beijing including the vast Tiananmen Square where Chairman Mao’s tomb and various monuments to the people are located. Dominating the city’s heart is the Forbidden City, a centre of power for five centuries and seat of the emperors. Entering through the Gate of Heavenly Peace (replete with Chairman Mao’s portrait), we also visit the summer Palace. Tonight, we enjoy a dinner of Peking Duck at a city restaurant.

Day 5: Beijing

Drive (1.5 hrs) and hike on the Great Wall at Mutianyu, which is a quieter and more pleasant stretch of the wall to walk on. Some say it can be seen from space, but unless you’re a top gun at NASA, perhaps you’ll never know. Instead, experience the real deal. One of the Seven Wonders of the World and an enduring symbol of Chinese civilisation and genius, the UNESCO protected Great Wall of China was built as a defensive structure to protect China against marauding invaders from the north. Although the present wall dates mainly from the Ming dynasty, some 20 states and dynasties were involved in its immense construction over a period of 2,000 years and followed different routes and building extensions as required.

Day 6: Beijing

Today you will visit the Hutongs- Nanluogu Xiang. Included on all group tours. For tailor - made or city breaks - book and pay locally. Hutongs are a special feature of Beijing. On a peddle powered rickshaw and accompanied by a local guide, you’ll gain a fascinating snapshot of the city’s traditional way of life, as you meander through Beijing’s old back lanes. Later today you will also visit the Lama Temple, Beihai Park and the Olympic sites.

Day 7: Beijing - Shanghai

Today you will be transferred to the airport where you will board a flight to Shanghai. Upon arriving in Shanghai you will be transferred to your hotel, the rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 8: Shanghai

Today, we visit the Oriental Pearl TV tower, explore the Jade Buddha Temple, charming Yuyuan Gardens, Bund, wold financial tower and Din Tai Fung.

Day 9: Shanghai

Travelling west, we journey to Suzhou in Jiangsu Province. One of China’s most charming cities, it’s fame rests on it’s waterways, and canals that are dotted with traditional bridges, houses and gardens. A cruise on the Grand Canal exposes Suzhou’s beauty. Renown for it’s silk, we also visit a silk workshop before returning to Shanghai.

Day 10: Shanghai - Hong Kong

Today you will be transferred to the airport where you will board a flight to Hong Kong. Upon arriving in Hong Kong you will be transferred to the hotel. This evening you will have the opportunity to visit the Temple Street night Market.

Day 11: Hong Kong

Visit Hong Kong, Disneyland and be left breathless by the fireworks show – The Chinese did invent the firework, after all!

Day 12: Hong Kong

Today you will go on a day tour of Victoria Peak and later this evening you will have the opportunity to visit Tsim Sha Tsui.

Lantau Buddha

Day 13: Hong Kong

Today we bid you farewell and transfer you to the airport for your onward flight home.
