Day 1: Hong Kong

Welcome to Hong Kong and the start of your exclusive Oriental Adventure. Arriving into Hong Kong airport you will see our driver waiting to drive you to your hotel in Kowloon.

Spend today recovering from your long journey.

Day 3: Hong Kong

Today you you will enjoy a half day tour of Hong Kong covering the major highlights of this fascinating city. The tour will take in Repulse Bay, Victoria Peak and Aberdeen. The tour will end after lunch, at about 2:30 pm. Hong Kong is known for its shopping and there will be some free time for you to go out bargain hunting this afternoon.

Day 4: Hong Kong - Beijing

This morning we drive you to the airport for your flight to Beijing. Arriving here, you will see our friendly driver and guide waiting to drive you to your hotel. In the afternoon we will enjoy a rickshaw ride through the Hutongs – or backstreets, of Beijing and in the evening we will witness a jaw-dropping Chinese acrobatic performance. Human pyramids, spinning plates, juggling hoops and swinging ropes are just some of the tricks you can expect to see here.

Day 5: Beijing

First thing this morning we will embark on a guided tour of the city centre, including Tiananmen Square and the legendary Forbidden City, which stood as the residence of emperors and as the political powerhouse of the country for over half a millennia. This afternoon we head to Beijing Zoo and the incredible Beijing Aquarium (one of the best in the world) we will also enjoy a drive by the Olympic sites and then stop for swimming at the Beijing Cube aquatics center now a fantastic fun slide pool.

Day 6: Beijing - Xi'an

Today, we drive beyond Beijing to Badaling, to walk a section of the famous Great Wall. A symbol of total Chinese genius, the Great Wall is a cultural icon. At least 20 dynasties were involved in its construction. Stretching some 6700 kilometres, we walk along just a small chunk of this massive masterpiece of human endeavour. Afterwards we enjoy lunch and return to Beijing city to explore the Summer Palace and then a wander in the Silk Alley Markets. Tonight we take you to the train station and assist with embarking your private cabin destined for Xi'an

Day 7: Xi'an

Arrive Xi’an, hotel check in and free morning. If time allows, opt for a morning dip in the hotels heated swimming pool. Perhaps the find of the 20th century the Terracotta Warriors comprise more than 7,000 life-sized soldiers which stand in military formation in excavated pits under the cover of a modern protective hanger. Made of local clay, no two faces are alike. Later today we visit the Terracotta Warrior archaeological site and a workshop where warrior figurines are made.

Day 8: Xi'an

Encircling Xi’an’s old city is the 15km in length and 6 metres wide medieval wall. This morning we’ll take a leisurely bicycle ride along the wall (solo or tandem). Looking down offers delightful views of the city hubbub and daily life. Afterwards we spend some time in the down town area and explore the Wild Goose Pagoda before catching a flight to Shanghai.

Day 9: Xi'an - Shanghai

Today we will take a tour of the many city sights including Yuyuan Garden, Jade Buddha Temple and The Bund – once the trading and commercial centre of Old Shanghai, before ending with a cruise on the Huangpu River to see the stunning city lights

Day 10: Shanghai

Today, you journey to an oriental Venice – ancient Zhulialiao interwoven by a series of canals and pretty waterways. Enjoy the day with your guide taking in the scenic town and having a wander along it’s many pretty streets. Return for an evening at leisure in Shanghai. Tonight you can have a booking made at one of the many cities revolving rooftop restaurants and enjoy a dinner overlooking the stunning city lights - a great way to spend your final night!

Day 11: Shanghai

Sadly your journey has come to an end, we will transfer you to the airport in time for your flight home.
