Day 1: Beijing

Welcome to China and the start of your holiday! Enjoy an arrival transfer to our hotel, where you sit back and relax after your long flight.

Today we tour the centre of Beijing including the massive Tiananmen Square and the sprawling Forbidden City. Boasting some 9999 rooms, the city within a city was once the sole preserve of the Chinese emperors. Day 3: Beijing

The Great Wall! Following a ridge of barren hills through northern China, it stretches as far as the eye can see - at least 6,700 kms. Continuing, a visit is made to the tombs of the Ming emperors, where some 13 emperors were interred. Also, we'll visit a cloisonne workshop, where you’ll see the production of decorative items, an ancient craft. Overnight - Rainbow Hotel

Day 4: Beijing - Xi'an

Morning market walk and a visit to the Summer Palace. We explore the lavishly decorated temples, halls and courts, reconstructed in 1902 at the whim of the extravagant Dowager Empress Cixi. Visit to the famed Silk Alley markets before the overnight sleeper train to Xi'an. Overnight - Rainbow Hotel

Day 5: Xi'an

Upon arrival into Xian, we are met and transferred to our hotel for breakfast and time to freshen up. Later today, we visit the Terracotta Warrior archaeological site where some 7,000 warriors stand in battle ready position, a factory that shows how the terracotta figurines are crafted and Huaqing Hot Springs. Day 6: Xi'an

Today, we tour the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, take a bike ride on Xian’s medieval City Wall and visit the Muslim Quarter. Overnight - Wan Nian Grand Hotel

Day 7: Xi'an - Shanghai

Leaving Xian, we head to the airport for our flight to Shanghai. On arrival we are met and transferred to our hotel. Remainder of today at leisure. Overnight - Wan Nian Grand Hotel

Day 8: Shanghai

Focus your eyes on spectacular Shanghai. Perhaps China’s most modern city, it's amazing Pudong skyline is stunning. We enjoy a tour of the many city sights including Yuyuan Garden, TV Tower, Jade Buddha Temple and The Bund, with a cruise on the Huangpu River. Overnight - Astor House Hotel

Day 9: Shanghai - Hangzhou

Departing Shanghai, we travel by train today to Hangzhou to visit the Six Harmonies Pagoda and enjoy tea at the Dragon Well. Overnight - Astor House Hotel

Day 10: Hangzhou

This morning you visit the West Lake which is undoubtedly the most renowned feature of Hangzhou, noted for the scenic beauty that blends naturally with many famous historical and cultural sites. Highlights today will be Linyin Temple and a tranquil bicyle ride in this beautiful scenic area. Overnight - Lily Hotel

Day 11: Hangzhou - Hong Kong

Today enjoy a guided tour to the Chinese Medicine Museum, Tea House and the Longjing village.We will then transfer you to the airport for the flight to Hong Kong. On arrival will transfer you to the hotel. Overnight - Lily Hotel

Day 12: Hong Kong
